Going to start reviewing shonen anime the way some people talk about shoujo

“Don’t let the Shonen Jump label fool you, this series is actually pretty good even if it opens with the same boring dude finding out he has to slay demons or whatever. The animation and music are good, they can even carry you through the longest battle scenes. The way he cares for his friends is a little cheesy but I guess it is for little boys at the end of the day haha”

some usagi x makoto headcanons:

their first impressions: usagi fell in love at first sight basically, while makoto got a twinge of... maybe deja vu isn't quite the right way to explain it, but some kind of recognition that fate was at play. usagi saw a cool, cute, tall, strong, and kind young woman and was like wow!! makoto saw a cute girl in trouble and knew she had to step in, but felt herself pulled towards this particular girl. something about her seemed familiar, and important.

their first date: probably a 'stay in and make food and eat under a kotatsu' date. usagi would suggest it and try to be kind of coy about it. makoto would assume usagi was being friendly until like. usagi would ask something like 'have you ever kissed another girl, mako-chan' while they were cuddling and holding hands, and then OH. she'd turn red up to her ears. and get too warm for the kotatsu and have to excuse herself to wash her face with cool water. usagi would be a little down because makoto didn't answer, but then she'd just eat seconds until makoto came back and they'd have a heart to heart where usagi would be a little overdramatic and makoto would be swept up in the romance of it all... goobers.

their first kiss: at the end of their first date, usagi would try to initiate but the height difference would make it hard for her to kiss makoto goodbye, so makoto would give her a kiss on the cheek instead. their first direct kiss would be on their first public date, which might be a few dates after. both of them would want to dress up and go out to show each other off. then they'd kiss goodnight. and then make out on the back porch because usagi is shameless, let's be real.

their love languages: acts of service is the big one for makoto. physical affection is big for usagi. they're both verbally somewhat affectionate too, but both prefer to show their love for each other.

how they feel about pda: usagi wants everyone to know makoto is her girlfriend. makoto is a romantic at heart too, so she is somewhat favorable to pda, if it's tasteful and romantic.

their favorite things about one another: usagi admires makoto for her many skills. she's good at so many different things! she can sew and cook and fight for justice all at once! complete package! makoto admires usagi's heart. she's so kind. she has so much love to give, and she lets it guide her through so much.

their family and friends’ opinion: usagi's family is so happy for her! makoto has a good level head on her shoulders, and they know she'll take care of her. their first impression is of course that makoto is a trouble maker, but meeting her in person changes their tune pretty quickly. makoto's distant relatives are also supportive, although usagi doesn't have the best reputation either, and because she's a little out there meeting doesn't help that much. but... makoto is happy, truly happy, and that's what matters.
