Arrivederci

This might be weirdly specific, but I watched Carmen Sandiego on Netflix before I ever got into Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure and when I got to the iconic “Arrivederci” scene in part 5, my mind jumped right to Carmen’s backstory when she had her own Arrivederci moment. It might not be as badass, but in my mind it was equally iconic.

So anyway I’d been meaning to do this for like months ever since I watched it and I finally got around to it. So here is Bucci as Carmen Sandiego. It was super fun, too, because I was trying to mimic Carmen Sandiego’s art style and it’s very lineless and fun shapes and that’s totally different than what I’m used to.

I made a version that has Carmen’s color scheme too, but I feel like this one is a better mixture of the two characters.

that’s enough “grieving” when a person transitions. you didn’t lose a kid, you lost a concept. you gained a kid who is happier & healthier & has so much more joy in their life. learn to celebrate instead.

make gender transition an occasion of celebration not mourning! our lives are not tragedies, nor are our identities. 

if your kid is transitioning: instead of adding to their worries with grief and guilt, why not take the opportunity to celebrate all the new milestones you get to share with them? take them out shopping for their first suit/formal gown. get excited alongside them about picking out hairstyles/makeup/binders. take them out for dinner to celebrate their transition. Celebrate your kid and this new chapter of their life. This is an occasion of JOY, and shame on you if you can’t recognize that.

Same Concept 2 Months Apart

I have two main headcanons about Bruno Bucciarati. One is that he’s a slut and the other is that he just messes with zippers when he’s bored. If I had Sticky Fingers I’d just be going zip zip all the live long day.

I drew this same concept only 2 months ago and there was a lot about it that I didn’t like so I decided to do it again. I can’t decide which I like better. They both have their strengths I suppose and it’s hard to compare since the styles are fairly different.

I think the most important difference between these is that in 2 months my understanding of how to spell a zip noise has changed.

Neither of these are really the kind of style I’d draw usually, so maybe that’s what’s throwing me off, but as I make this post, I hate them both more and more. Such is the life of the artist I suppose.

There's something just really aesthetic and cozy about tea sets that are all mismatched. An eclectic array of different tea cup shapes and plate designs. Makes me happy.
