Lavinia gave him a pointed look. “I see summer didn’t take away any of your cockiness.” She grinned, still inspecting the broom polishing kits. “Oh please, my team could wipe the pitch with the Slytherin team. You know I’m captain now?” She grinned again, up at him.

Lavinia eyed the magazine in her hands bitterly. Witch Weekly was closer to a tabloid these days. She scoffed down at her own face on the front page, smiling at Boris Vulchanov, a quidditch player on Bulgaria’s National Team whom she knew very vaguely. But Rita Skeeter, that old bat, had been trying to dig up dirt on her since she was fifteen. She had recently published a 750 page novel about her family’s “dark secrets” in which Lavinia was colorfully painted as some sort of materialistic seductress. She supposed she shouldn’t have shouted at the woman in public when Rita has slandered her father. She’d been enjoying the repercussions of that for three years, earning many articles in different wizarding magazines, only a quarter of them at all positive. She didn’t look up upon hearing someone approach her. “No I will not sign it and no, precious Vulchanov was not given a love potion, I’ve only met him twice!”

Sam went to Diagon Alley to pick himself out a new broom. He was walking around when he saw a familiar face, and he smirked slightly at them. He walked behind them trying to scare them he quickly put his hands on their shoulder “Boo!!”, then when they turned around he spoke with a smirk “Hey, sweetheart.”

Lavinia jerked violently turning to see who had scared the daylights out of her. “Merlin’s saggy ass! Do you have a death wish?” She demanded, pressing a hand to her chest. “I came here to buy quidditch supplies, not die of shock, Blake!” She turned back to the broom polishing kits, rolling her eyes.
