leonardo
The artist sighed lightly before walking toward the table to go back to his work, which proceeded with the pen never leaving the notebook. It was a lot of notes of current machinery work ( – as most would consider the machine a hunk of junk — it was actually small mechanics that would start working at the right pressure when turning the small handle. He thought creating something easier to get water with would go a long way in the future. Surely there were others that were currently inviting ways to have water connect to each home but that would take so many years to progress and Leonardo didn’t have that kind of time. ) a hand reached up to push back blond strands in frustration. Most plenty of times where the artist had believed his works were just simple failures and why continuing to do them seemed relevant he hadn’t the slightest bit of confidence that he lacked.
Not wanting Volpe to see him in such a rut he continued to write stuff down before dropping the pen on the table and lightly pressing the palm against the wood. He tried hard to bite his tongue, shaking head and turning around to walk toward the glasses and the wine. Pouring himself some with little to say to follow.
However, from the looks of it — it seemed that he owed the other an explanation of sorts. As there was no sign of simple frustration at first, but truth be told he had been working on this for almost two days with no stopping and the wine was a way to cope. Yes, he had finished with many works before hand — but to figure that something so simple could have been done at that time too when it’s not, let Da Vinci in some sort of self loathing atmosphere. Hard to tell, however, from the constant smiling and saving Volpe seemed to be natural. Not wanting anyone else to be put in stressful situation like he was.
‘ — I just need a tiny break.’
He could tell when Leonardo was having a hard time. He’d seen it often before ... things happened. It was a look he knew well. Leo was good at hiding his feelings, as was la Volpe. Leonardo just had a different way of doing it. Nail lightly tapped against the glass he had as he soon watched the other get up. Violet eyes watched as he got some wine and then spoke. Volpe’s eyes never missed anything.
“Having trouble, Leonardo?”
He didn’t even need conformation to that statement. He simply knew it to be correct.
Getting up from his seat, he’d walk over to gaze at what the other had been working on. Anyone else would have trouble with it, not Gilberto though. This man had been the one who taught him to read and write, so of course he knew how to read the artist’s writing. It was ingenious, what Leo was working on, but he seemed to be having trouble with a few things. He didn’t know much about this sort of stuff, but he knew aerodynamics, and from the looks of this, it would slow water down instead of help get it where it needed to be. He wasn’t sure if hydrodynamics were the same thing, but it seemed like it might be about the same principles.
“This looks too curved.”
He’d lightly tap the part before moving away, sipping his wine. He hoped that helped.
“Were you expecting anyone, Leonardo? You don’t ... usually drink wine by yourself.”
