You are not your body, but that doesn’t mean it is unimportant. Your physical self is what gives your consciousness the ability to experience this world. It also gives it the power to impact this world—and not just in the sense of physical action.
Your physical self is the medium through which you can empower consciousness to be expressed on the physical plane. As an example, if you can allow your physical self to embody more love, the world instantly becomes more loving. The same is true for any state of being you choose to hold, and I cannot emphasize enough that this is your greatest power. Whatever physical thoughts, feelings, and actions occur are just a byproduct of this process.
Spiritual people often focus on the idea of ascending into higher and higher realms. Others may instead strive upward toward greater joy, love, or inspiration—any kind of peak state. I don’t want to say this is wrong, but it doesn’t recognize the paradoxical nature of physicality.
Perhaps it would help to instead see your goal of achieving a peak self or experience less like a process of you ascending, and more like a process of higher consciousness or joy or inspiration or whatever, descending more and more deeply into your body and, consequently, more deeply into this world.
Be all here, all now. Sink deeply into relaxation, openness, knowing, and allowing. What you want then flows with ease and abundance, automatically, because all it is, after all, is You.
Create this shift in your being, and every locked door will open.
