I love Valkyrie Nesta, I love that she found her people, but I absolutely hate that she became a warrior and wanting it in the end
I hate that it's sort of made out that it was where she wanted to end up or the right path for her
I hate that she wanted to travel, she wanted to wield a strength outside of swords and brute force, she seemed to just want peace after everything she has been through, but in the end she will always be fighting
I hate that it was set up by the IC to tame her and she ended up embracing it
I hate that she will always be a weapon now, she will always be monitored and kept in check by them
People want her to be the General of the Valkyries and yes she would be amazing but look at Cassian, he's the General of the entire Night Court army and he's basically Rhysand's lap dog. That is absolutely not the end I want for her
She could have been a scholar, an emissary (an actual emissary not whatever the hell she is now), a dance teacher, a court liaison, an advisor, a librarian, she could have opened her own bookstore like Emerie has her shop, she could have opened her own tavern a place for people to dance and escape safely like she needed
Her character, her actual character not whatever SJM tried to warp her into throughout ACOSF, had endless possibilities that could have been explored and it was all wasted
I will honestly never forgive SJM for the way she has handled Nesta as a character and you will never persuade me that she loves her like she says
I CAN'T😭I JUST SAW SOMEONE SAY CASSIAN AND NESTA ARE THE BEST COUPLE😭😭😭🙏🙏🙏 PLEASE GET THESE PRO NESSIAN SHIT AWAY FROM MY FEED.
Big brain thought of the day: sjm treats nesta badly so there’s a possibility she’d break her heart further by killing her mate right
A mask is superficial. An act is convincing performance. Neither should be causing real harm, because neither requires you to actually hurt people.
This is why people say that Rhysand is evil. The actions Rhysand takes are harmful ones. He beheaded and innocent person, branded their ear, and desecrated their corpse by putting their head on the bill of that Spring Court crane statue. He broke the minds of countless innocent people. He drugged and assaulted Feyre in front of the most important people in Prythian just to piss off Tamlin. He lied to Feyre (by omission) about life-altering facts, multiple times. He stole from Tarquin for no good reason. He keeps the people of the Hewn City trapped under a mountain. He permits wing clipping through his inaction. Hell, even the poor citizens of Velaris are afraid of him and the IC. He earned his reputation, and I'm sick of people pretending like he didn't.
One thing that I always found to be really weird about the Solstice party that Feyre blackmails Nesta into going to, is Feyre making a comment about Nesta not getting them gifts.....but Nesta doesn't have her own money. They never paid her, she didn't receive any money that might (could) have been collected from what Tamlin gave them, or whatever money their father may have made after he left the human lands.
So I guess she was just supposed to use Rhysand's account to get them gifts?
And in that case, if Nesta spent 500 gold buying gifts for Feyre & Co. (with Rhysand's money), would that have been ok....or would that have Feyre crying into her eggs as well?
FORGET ABOUT SMUT. PLEASE I AM TIRED OF IT. I NEED ANGST. I NEED GUT WRENCHING EMOTIONAL TURMOIL THAT MAKES ME SICK TO MY STOMACH. I NEED TO BAWL JUST FROM THINKING ABOUT IT.
"they didn't owe Nesta shit" okay? so why didn't they leave her alone like she wanted? what's the excuse for that one? "Cassian didn't need to be nice to Nesta" and he didn't need to follow her around and berate her like the crown prince of the incels either
you can't say they didn't owe her anything when they also wouldn't leave her alone when she wanted nothing to do with them. people make it out as if she wanted to be around them and be treated well by them. no, she made it explicitly clear multiple times that she wanted nothing to do with them so if they were going to force themselves on her they could have at least had some basic decency towards her
fucking IC stans always want it both ways

Help a Family in Need
I am reaching out on behalf of my dear friend, Mohamad S., who is facing one of the most challenging times of his life. Mohamad is 37 years old and left his homeland in 2015 in search of a safer and better future. He’s a kind, hardworking man, and his small family has always been his greatest priority.
Living abroad, Mohamad has recently endured unimaginable loss and financial strain. Amidst the ongoing conflict in his homeland, his mother passed away, leaving behind his sister and her five young children—the last remaining members of his immediate family.
As the situation worsened, Mohamad managed to help his sister and her children escape to safety in Egypt, covering their immediate needs and securing a temporary refuge for them. Since then, he has been fully responsible for providing everything they need to survive during this transition.
In his efforts to support his family and cope with this devastating loss, Mohamad has found himself deeply in debt. To make matters even more difficult, he recently underwent knee surgery, which limits his ability to return to work for the foreseeable future. This has made it even harder for him to manage his financial responsibilities and the pressing need to provide his family with a stable future.
Mohamad is now working to bring his sister and her five children to join him in Belgium, where he hopes they can find stability and opportunity after all they’ve endured. This transition, however, requires significant resources that he is currently unable to meet alone.
For privacy reasons, we are not sharing Mohamad’s full name, as he has chosen to keep his identity discreet. While he initially refused the idea of asking for help, I couldn’t stand by and watch him struggle alone. I insisted on doing this for him because he deserves a chance to overcome these challenges.
Your contribution will help Mohamad repay the debt incurred during this difficult time, cover ongoing living expenses for his family, and assist with the costs involved in bringing them safely to Belgium.
Mohamad has been a good friend of mine for years, and I’ve always admired his resilience and generosity. Any support, no matter the size, will make an incredible difference in helping Mohamad and his family rebuild their lives after these painful experiences.
Thank you for reading his story and considering helping a man who has always done everything he can for his loved ones.

Nesta isn’t a bitch, she is a mirror.
And somehow this isn’t apparent to the fandom. I’m aware this isn’t a firm, cohesive explanation but I don’t have the brain capacity for this. So take it however it resonates.
Papa Archeron is negligent towards his young daughters. Nesta in return neglects his care and abandons him like he abandoned them. This becomes the foundation for her anger and hatred.
Elain is the nicest sister and treats everyone with ‘compassion’. She offers company, validation, and emotional comfort which Nesta reciprocates and goes beyond that by protecting her from the world.
Feyre is domineering and mean. It’s not explicit in her words in the beginning, but it’s always underscored in her body language, and later on during the fights when Feyre says cruel things to Nesta, which she pays back in kind.
Nesta is wary yet polite to Rhysand, Cassian, and Azriel during their initial visit. Cassian attacks first getting between Nesta and Feyre. Since then the IC treat her with hostility. The one moment Rhysand interacts with her like a person before the High Lords meeting, Nesta humours him and they share a joke. When he threatens her life or tries to control her, she retaliates.
Cassian has seen her as nothing but a vicious animal. He pokes at her, prods at her, which later results in Nesta lashing out. (I do wonder if this is why Nesta was changed from modest to hyper sexual to reflect Cassian’s exaggerated fetishisation. Can’t make him non-creepy if he goes on and on for pages about her ass while Nesta is dead serious about her virtue.)
Morrigan jokes about stealing her dress (from her body iirc) and Nesta comments on hers in return which is taken as an insult.
Amren looks at her with fascination as she does with all things Made, and Nesta reciprocates. That's why the two could develop a brief friendship.
Azriel is cordial and shows basic courtesy at times which she reflects back. He is the only one in the IC who never instigated a direct confrontation, and so their friendship.
Emerie is respectful and considerate when Nesta visits her shop. Nesta offers it back with the training and the solstice gifts.
Gwyneth values genuinity and authenticity. She pushes Nesta in the library until she is her true self instead of feigning politeness.
Nesta isn’t mean, temperamental, or sharp-tongued by herself. Instead she reflects what is directed at her. If she was just an angry bitch, we’d have moments where she lashes out at Gwyneth, Emerie or the priestesses at odd times without reason. Her disdain is always placed where it belongs, when the IC step on her boundaries or control her life, at Tamlin when she remembers what happened with Feyre, or Eris after she gets to know Morrigan’s past.
Nesta rarely initiates any interaction with the others. She needs to be pried into a conversation. She takes her time to gauge someone before she reacts to them. Often times, these first interactions set the pace for the rest of their relationship. That’s why she can have great chemistry with anyone. She mirrors them.
This can be considered a trait stemmed from her grooming which she still uses before building a relationship. Or, a lame writing trick to turn the character SJM butchered in the opening of her very first book into a likeable protagonist. Since Nesta’s inner thoughts don’t indicate she is manipulative enough or actively seeking that kind of validation from anyone, I will go with the latter.
Ok, how come Tamlin was able to prohibit slavery in his territory just when he became high lord knowing that his would probably get him many enemies inside his own court and meanwhile, Rhysand hasn’t been able to ban wing clipping in the NC? He spent 50 years with Amarantha but what about the other 450 years? He’s not the most powerful high lord, he’s the most useless high lord.
Something I think that is very convenient is how the blame for Feyre’s illiteracy falls on Nesta. Because Feyre didn’t think Nesta would help or would ridicule her. If that’s the case, why not ask Elain? Why not ask their father? You don't need your legs to teach literacy.
And that’s the bigger issue. It feels like Feyre’s willful ignorance gets blamed on others instead of on herself because she can’t possibly be wrong. Why did it take Rhysand forcibly teaching Feyre how to read/write for her to learn? Why not say given our position in town and the extreme poverty we lived in, I didn’t feel like it was worth my time to learn?
Ultimately I think a lot of these issues can be traced back to book 1 having nothing to do with the rest of the series and everything having to be explained away or retconned to fit whatever new narrative sjm wants to explore but for some reason, that’s never an acceptable reason when it comes to anyone out of the IC (and no I don’t view Nesta as IC)
it is so funny how rhys goes on to feyre how his power is so scary, not an easy thing to bear, and a life with him will be a life chased by assassins etc and then he meets her sister with the power of death who has been targeted by fae who want her dead, and doesn't feel an ounce of sympathy or try to help her in any way to manage her power
I have seen people complain about Papa Archeron being on the 'Nesta' ship when it was Feyre who kept him alive. I hear that, but...
When people criticize that choice because Nesta treated her father horribly so he shouldn’t have made the effort… I beg you, please don’t ever have kids.
Nesta had every right to resent her father because he wasn’t ever there for her. Not once in her life. And by the end of ACOWAR, he admits that himself. That of all his daughters, he failed Nesta the most.
Elain was his favorite, we all know that at this point, so I'm not going to bother with a comparison in treatment. But Feyre wasn't far behind in his priorities. Nesta even said that Feyre was even more of a princess than she ever was to her father.
Feyre knew about business stuff, knew how to handle bills and such, because her father taught her. I’ll keep saying it : Feyre was raised like a boy. Like the heir.
When Feyre came back with the wolf pelt, he voiced concern about the risk she took. When Nesta talked about marrying Tomas, he didn't say a single thing even when Feyre begged him to keep her from marrying him because Tomas’ reputation precedes him.
When Feyre was at the Spring Court, she thought she saw her father trying to rescue her. That of all people, he would be the one to come get her when it was actually Nesta who did.
When Feyre came back from the Spring Court, he threw her an entire ball.
So now I ask you : what did he do for Nesta? What did he share with Nesta? Nothing.
He failed all of his daughters, but he failed Nesta the most. And it was about damn time he realized that.
He failed Feyre and Elain the moment he lost his money. He failed Nesta the moment she was born. That's why he was on her ship!
A T E and left no crumbs
The problem with the acotar series isn't that it's smut, but that it's characters (especially the males) are so fucking bad people that I can't even enjoy the smut. That's not romance, that's manipulation.
