100 posts!
OMG! I can't believe how many posts I've made these past few months! I have had such a fun time writing on this blog and finding some simple joy.
Literally, driving home, I was getting so excited to get home and write in here. I've been "lagging" on posting this past week, so I was excited to open up my laptop and type away my silly little thoughts.
I knew that this milestone was coming up, and it warmed up my heart! Such a simple thing that brings me joy and pride.
I want to keep writing in here; I never want to stop. I know that it won't be as intense as it's been this past month, but I just want to keep this hobby and practice in my life.
I can't wait to hit 200 posts!

you kinda betrayed my trust, i'm gonna see myself out now.
Okay, this is a very dramatic way to start the post, but I genuinely feel that way.
I was very excited for tonight, I was going to see some family I hadn't seen in a couple of weeks and celebrate together. It was only planned a few days ago, but it was going to be small and quaint. To get to their place, it would take an hour drive, so I was very honest about when I would get there.
So please tell me why, when I'm about 20 minutes away, and I get a phone call. There will be another family I do not associate myself with, who will be there. Honestly, changed my whole mood for the night. I decoded that I am already on my way, I am transparent and tell them that I won't be staying.
When I get there, I'm told that the family member, G, is leaving soon, but like I said, I just want to leave. My mood is seriously ruined. When it comes to G, I need to protect my peace.
Another reason I was ticked off: the whole reason I was going to their place was to help them with tasks around the house, but when I got there, everyone was at the pool. Just annoying.
As soon as I pulled onto the street, the stress and annoyance left me completely. This post is the furthest I am willing to go. I'm not upset anymore, but just bummed. I wish my boundaries had been respected more, and if G was going to be there, I could have come another day.
Sad, what a wasted drive.

i forgot how much i loved puzzles
There is a house near me that has the biggest Little Library I have seen. There's a huge shelf in front of their house for books and there are sections for non-book items. That's where I found this puzzle.
I used to love puzzles as a kid, mainly because I didn't have cable growing up, but it was still a fun thing to do. As I've grown older, I've gotten bored and lost interest in them. I just stopped playing.
Lately, I've been seeing videos of people competitively solving puzzles and it reignited my interest. I've thought about buying a puzzle but they are surprisingly expensive, so I imagine the push I felt when I found this cute puzzle.
It was only 350 pieces, I completed it over three days and watched three movies. At some points of this process, I felt so locked in, but others, it was just something fun to do.
I really enjoyed myself and going to keep an eye out for any free or cheap ones I can find. I think it would be fun to restart my puzzle journey.

There are a lot of things on my mind for this next month. My main drive is to gear up for summer and prioritize future me. I want to look back on my life and know I enjoyed it, and I took my time to learn to love life.
Here are my goals:
do one thing a day that brings joy and breaks up the dullness

write out summer bucket list
write out all summer to-dos
deep clean two spots in my home
throw father's day party
These are the big ones that get me excited to go through the month. I want to cross all of these off!

i can not wait for the weekend!
I don't even have anything exciting planned, but I am ready to be done with work and be home. There are a couple of big things I have to do that I am a little stressed about.
take my dog to get her teeth cleaned
deep clean the apartment
I would like to watch some movies, go on a hike, and have a solo picnic.
This week has felt long and a bit boring. I am ready for the weekend. I know part of why it was so boring was that I cancelled so many things: going to the gym, going to the movies. I want to do better next week.
I will enjoy this weekend, make some commitments for the next week, and take my time doing it.

this will be the first full month i have this blog
Well, not really, but it will be the first full 30 days I have since focusing back on this blog. I am trying really hard not to force myself to write here. I don't want this to feel like a job. But.... I would like to see how many posts I can make in this time.
I have really enjoyed being here and I wonder if I can make more than the month before.
With it officially being the first month of summer I do want to take myself away from screens and spend more time outside. I tend to write most of my posts at work (shhh it's a secret), but I have been writing more at home.
I just don't want to add stress to something that is supposed to take away anxiety. This is my special little space.

i accidentally had a dv double feature
I've seen clips from both movies on TikTok and it really peaked my interest. I only meant to watch one, but....
I started with "No One Would Tell" 1996. I wonder if this movie was big deal because of the two main leads. I kept seeing them both in there respective roles, it was easier to picture DJ in this position than Kevin. The main reason is how much more likely a woman is to be in this situation, but also, I can imagine DJ failing for a guy that would yell at her or grab her too hard, and there would be a whole episode about it. Seeing Fred Savage like this was a bit jarring, he was playing Bobby.
Truthfully neither of the leads wowed me with their performances. I was surprised with how many time the camera would focus on Stacy, Candace Cameron Bure, and her mouth would just be wide open. That was the face when she was embarrassed, surprised, hit, or confused.
The movie has such a sad ending. I was really rooting for Stacy, but the lesson learned is that cycles and habits are hard to break.
I get being upset at her Nikki for being mean at the party to her, but at the end of the day these are just high school kids, this is in the 90s, people just don't know how to spot the signs and give proper support.
After I finished that movie, "Reviving Ophelia" was recommended. Like I said, I've seen clips of it and knew the basic information. I was really curious about the title knowing the main character is named Liz.
The reason is because they are talking about the relationship between Ophelia and Hamlet in English class. The movie tries to compare that relationship with the main couple. I do not think that is a valid comparison. I would rather have the couple compared to Romeo and Juliet. Since most of the movie is about separating the two. Yes, they are being separated by only her family, and yes it is because he is abusing her, but I still thinks it works better than Hamlet. Heck, they even brought up how in Othello, the main character kills his wife! That would have been better.
I definitely liked the first one more, the acting wat better, the audience gets to see the sweetheart turn into a monster, and there even "reasons" for why Bobby is abusing Stacy. In the second, the movie starts with after their relationship has begun, and there seems to be no reason as to why Mark is acting like this other than "that's how he is." Lazy. I also hate the side story of the cousin in "Reviving.." I'm glad she got her happy ending, but still, the storyline did not sit right with me.
In conclusion, I would like to say Carla... you are a terrible person.

What a line up, I am very happy looking at this list. It's times like these that I am very happy I have the A-list membership. Without the membership, I'm unsure if I would have seen any movies. I have always loved going to the movies, but steep prices made it hard to make the decision to go. Now with the membership, going to the movies has become one of my favorite things to do again!
