The two-part harmony between them gave Layla some sort of adrenaline rush - a music induced sugar high, she called it. She loved doing stuff like this, she actually hadnât done it in a while. The last person sheâd done anything musical with was Simon, and it was a while ago...
Layla was mentally beating herself up for letting her mind slip. She felt kind of stupid for dropping the words she was singing. "Sorry about that..." she smiled sheepishly. Layla reached down and grabbed the monter off the floor, taking a sip again. She rolled over to sit up and lean against the wall behind her bed and wrapped herself lossely in the blanket that was there. A small yawn escaped her lips and she fiddled with the tab on the top of the can in her hands, the flimsy piece of metal falling off within seconds. She decided  that whatever Brenton played next, she wouldn't sing. Layla was getting tired and knew her mind was goingto start wandering more, but she really didn't mind him being there. It was nice to actually have someone who atleast seemed interested in hanging out with her.
The Restaurant || Layla&Brenton
Brenton carried on playing as Layla sung Tayâs parts of the song. Their voices seem to fit nicely together he thought. The way they were singing was if they were used to each others styles and was singing together for years. âIf I hang on for the ride I promise I will crash without her there.â Brenton sung as they hit the chorus and sung together. âSheâs like a rock and you keep chipping off a piece to hold on to and thereâs gotta be, gotta be something more than this. In a life full of exits and entrances.â The harmony fit and Brenton was glad that they were doing this.
The two-part harmony between them gave Layla some sort of adrenaline rush - a music induced sugar high, she called it. She loved doing stuff like this, she actually hadn't done it in a while. The last person she'd done anything musical with was Simon, and it was a while ago that they'd played the piano together. Again, that thought stuck in her head and Layla's words accidentally stopped while Brenton continued to sing. Fuck, get yourself together. She felt embarassed for letting her mind slip and screw things up, but picked up her words again after a few seconds.
They continued to sing, and Layla smiled making herself forget about Simon for the time being. "That was awesome." she told him after they'd finished. Layla hoped she didnt have to explain why her words had faltered while they were signing.

Looking for Motivation || Zac
âI know I canât say no to food, so I guess this will turn into an addiction eventuallyâ, he laughed shaking his head a little. âIâm not a good cartoonist, but I guess you got the point thereâ Zac said observing her reaction to the drawing. âIâll do my best to turning you into that hammerâ, he added with an encouraging smile.
âLike I said, this is not something that disappears from one day to another the first thing you need to do is find out the source of your block: family, school or love issues, loosing interest in what youâre doingâŠa lot of things can negatively influence in your writingâ, he explained to her, giving her time to think about it, but knowing that she possibly knew already why she wasnât feeling motivated, most of writers did.Â
"Told you." she joked. "Hm, it looks fine, really. I cant cartoon to save my life." she said. Of course Layla was an artist and apparently a good one at that, but tell her to draw a cartoon of anything and it was worthy of just being thrown in the trash instantly. A relieved smile spread across her face when he said he'd do his best to help her out.
She nodded, listening to what he was saying. Layla bit her lip and dropped her gaze to the table a little though when he explained reasons for writers block. She knew all too well what her reason was, but felt it was just a stupid reason. So maybe he didn't see any change in her work or notice that anything was wrong with her. Part of her was glad that he didn't; less of a scene to make. But part of her just wanted someone to notice her for once and see where she was now. "Um, yeah. I see what you mean. I- I know was my block is... I guess." she looked up  a little.
// Brenton
I cant help if layla starts to feel even the slightest thing for Brenton, lol. Cuz I just about died when you put up that picture this morning of Robert. Hahaha
//canât blame her :P
// Shes not supposed to though! hahaa But even if she does, she'll still try to keep away once Brenton starts to push her :-p

The Restaurant || Layla&Brenton
âNah, Iâm good.â He replied. He didnât usually have a drink at night unless it had alcohol in it and the reason he was at Laylaâs was so he didnât drink any. He couldnât see anything alcoholic anyway so it didnât even matter. He decided to think a little about what he might play. Then he realised the perfect songs he should do.
He smiled as he heard Layla singing along, he decided against singing Tayâs parts this time and just sing Jordanâs. âTricked you, haha.â Brenton joked although he didnât really trick her, it was just a coincidence that she started singing along. âI wonât laugh if you carry on, I promise.â He told her over the instrumental. He started to sing again as it reached Jordanâs part. âWell, Iâm sorry to say that I gave it away.âÂ
Nodding, she took another sip of her monster. She wasn't addicted to these things, but god they tasted good. Layla figured someone like him would be all for alcohol though, but obviously she had none of that in her room, nor did she really want to be around him drunk.
She laughed at little at what he'd said and only had a few seconds before Tays part came back in and she actually continued singing, her voice still soft. "We are, Oh we're about to be, So much closer than we ever thought that we could be..." Right away he took over with Jordans part, and then she came back in. "Well Im empty, you're empty. It's none of my business, But I wont be a witness..." When they hit the chorus, she smiled, her voice, still quiet, moved above his. It wasn't perfect, but their voices matched in harmony, her's a perfect fifth above his.
