layla smiled at the older boy. "I'm new here, I just finished my sophomore year" the girl cleared out. he looked charlie-ish, but a good kind of charlie-ish. "are you, like, a senior?"

He’d been doing about a month of basic training, an entire month running through drills and figuring out what his life would be once he finished high school. He’d signed over his life to the United States government and he couldn’t have been more proud…or more tired. Everything ached most of the time, though he knew he was getting stronger. Still, he’d missed Jasey and the kids like crazy, had missed Holly as well. He knew that the summer parties were probably out of control and he missed being there with his friends. Getting to go home had then been a treat and he aimed to make it one for everyone he knew. “Surprise Evanston, I’m back.”
layla still didn’t know too many people. she knew the people in her clique and in the jocks and the plastics, but not many people out of that. she looked at the boy with a raised eyebrow. he was cute, but there was a definite nerd look to him. “yeah, that’s cool, and you are…?”
“Honestly the only reason I’m here is because my dad owns this place and said I needed to get some in the field experience this summer if I ever hope to help him run shit like this. Otherwise I wouldn’t be caught dead in this uniform.” Evan sighed as he sat up on one of the counters. “Entertain me until my shift is over. I’m fucking bored.”
"well, I think the uniform suits you. red looks good on you" the blonde said, sitting next to him. "well, my mom is up there at some meeting, so I am also bored as fuck" she shrugged. "wanna ditch and go out somewhere?"

layla smiled at the girl. "Yeah, looks great!" she agreed. the girl was glad she wasn't a Plastic - she couldn't wear pink every Wednesday. She loved black, red, white, and navy blue. She couldn't give up all of those to wear pink. "Yeah! I found a really cute leather jacket. Also a cute dark red pleated skirt. So are you taking that?"
