Back in NYC.

I finally get to stay in New York for a full month. No more traveling for a while.

Such is life. Nothing major, just a flare up of something I dealt with in my teens. I haven’t out right told him, so probably not.

You are in luck I just got off my plane and am on my way to my apartment now.

Traveling is exhausting.

Yeah, it would be nice. Just some health stuff. It’s nothing too serious but it means I’ll be out of work for a while. Which means I’ll be trying to not go stir crazy.

Oh well. Health stuff? What’s going on? Does dad know?

He truly does. I wish I got more of that. Why what’s going on?

Y’know what? I can’t even pretend to be surprised. Layn, she lost her shit years ago, you don’t have to worry about that.

But at the same time I was like 12 and my siblings were driving her crazy. Oh, i’m well aware of that.

Have you met your mother? If she wants to be mad about something, she’ll find a reason. You know she’s originally a Fabray, right? Judging is sort of a given.

Very true. She got mad one time at a cucumber because it went bad. I thought she was losing her shit that day.

Part of me says your mother wouldn’t approve, the other part of me says she’s already started drinking it.

I’m also old enough for this so she can’t even be mad. She probably has so she can’t judge me.

Your father gets it, so it’s fine. I just feel bad for doing it sometimes.

Yeah I would feel bad, too.

Always a silver lining, eh? Not sure he’d believe that one. He has believed a lot of things over the years, but getting him to believe that is definitely a stretch.
