Might as well sit down and enjoy it. What's up, my names Ziggy. Have a snack while you're here, sit down a little. I got an extra beanbag chair and a bunch of comics.
These are the tags I'll use to sort my posts.
#slacking is for a post
#snacking is for a reblog
My girlfriend is gonna show up here from time to time, and her posts will be tagged #beachy breeze.
and finally, #friendly face is for when I answer an ask.
I'm not good with any of that NSFW stuff in my ask box, so don't do that. Don't like it. Keep it sane and simple here, capiche? Good.
Headcanons:
- Ziggy isn't his real name. His real name is Cameron "Camo/Ziggy" Jones. The reason he's a Jones is because in the trailer, you could see that the bus incident fused Sun Tan Specialist (Jones skin) fused with Camo (Chameleon)
- He snacks a lot because he usually eats about 4 crickets before remembering he's not that small anymore and needs to eat more.
- Since he's a fusion of Sun Tan Specialist and Camo, most his memories are twisted and morphed (except for the ones post-bus). He can only make sense of a few.
- Since he is a chameleon, he can change his color to disguise himself. He is commonly discovered from opening a snack bag, but he can be useful when he's not pulling a vending machine heist. They can also change subconsciously depending on his emotions.
- Ziggy thinks that Lightrider, Killswitch, and Synthwaves codenames are their real names. Ex: Killswitch = Kill (first name) Switch (last name)
- Ziggy has a high metabolism, which is why he's always eating yet maintains his thin figure.
- For Breezabelle (Ziggy's girlfriend), her real name is Isabelle Brees. TBA.
[Morgan hadn't heard from Ziggy since he'd banged on her door demanding to know where his kids (?!) were, and his continued silence worried her. At this point, though, it was pretty clear that if she wanted to understand what happened and hopefully help him at all, she would have to go to him.
To that end, Morgan now alighted quietly outside Ziggy's door, holding a fresh pizza in a box. The best way to talk was always over food. Taking a breath and bracing herself, she knocked on the door.]
Ziggy? It's Morgan. I brought your favorite takeout, can I come in?
Ziggy twisted the doorknob, opening the door slightly. He peered through the crack at Morgan. She wasn't lying, she had a box of Pizza Pit pizza. He sighed, and opened the door fully. "Yeah. Come on in." He said, stepping aside.
[He was quiet, though Morgan wasn't certain if it was his normal quiet or not. Usually he was laid back, but this seemed... heavy.
Holding out the pizza for him to take, she dismissed her wings so she wouldn't take up as much room.]
Hey, Ziggy.
I... just wanted to check in with you and make sure you're okay. You gave me a bit of a fright the other day, and you seemed even more scared than I was.
Ziggy took the box from Morgan's hand, and set it down on the counter. He didn't even really look at it.
"I'm fine. Well, now I am. Everything's a bit weird. You probably think I'm crazy. Of course you do, I'd seem crazy to anyone. Bursting into your house yelling about kids that... That don't exist."
The last part of that sentence seemed like it hurt for him to say.
[Morgan looked down, eyes tracing the pattern of the floor.
He really was hurting over this... Whatever it was had been real enough to him. Maybe it even had been real. In this place, who could say?...]
You know... since we came here, I've gotten arcane powers, fought demons with god complexes, helped the Commander get un-timeswapped, and learned about the Omniverse.
[She glanced up, trying to give a reassuring smile.]
I guess my point is I don't really know what qualifies as crazy here anymore. Strange, sure, but crazy? I don't know.
I was just hoping to be able to talk about it. So maybe we can figure out what happened.
Ziggy looked at Morgan. She was right, there were things way crazier. After all, they did fight a huge mass of tentacles next to Superman of all people. And then they fought the thing that the tentacles were attached to. And then something to do with the Greek philosopher Homer.
[Not being enthusiastic to talk about it was to be expected, but Ziggy really was having a hard time giving Morgan something to grasp. Swallowing hard and thinking back, she started quietly.]
Okay... So I only have some stuff in the middle. Can you start from the beginning and tell me what started it?
[That could give them an idea of what kicked it all off and where his memories seemed to deviate from reality...]
Ziggy looked out the window. The glow from the reformed Zero Point spread across the island. He sat down on a chair nearby.
"I don't know the exact beginning, but I do know where it began. Underneath the Zero Point, there's a pool of water. I don't remember exactly what caused the whole thing, but I do remember laying there when it ended. I think I slipped on a rock and hit my head or something? I don't know, it's been a few years."
He bounced his leg passively. He didn't do this before. Probably something he picked up in it.
[Oh, THAT figured. The Commander had given them all an overview of the thing, but Morgan had researched it extensively on her own time because of how Zero Energy interacted with her magic.
The semi-sentient center of all that was, had been, and would be, gateway to any and all Reality and Time. Of course it would be the thing behind Ziggy living another life.]
And you think that, when you hit your head, you lived through an alternate life or something?
[It sounded insane, alright, but it made an unsettling amount of sense, given the rules of the place they lived in now.]
"I-I don't know. Probably. It's the portal to countless other realities. If it wasn't the Zero Point, it was probably a really screwed up dream."
He exhaled, glancing out the window again momentarily. The light moved as the fragments of the Zero Point adjusted themselves around the core.
"After I hit my head and it started, I think I just went home and slept like it was a casual day. I don't exactly remember. Again, it was a long while ago. At least for me. It was a day or two or something here."
[Morgan shifted in the seat she'd taken. Putting down the barely nibbled slice of pizza, she mumbled quietly as she traced a tiny sigil in the air. After a moment the sigil lit up in blue fire, and Morgan dismissed it.]
Definitely the Zero Point... Its energy is on you and everything you've touched. It wasn't before.
[She planted her hands in her lap, embarrassed for interrupting.]
S-sorry. Just... Never mind. Keep going. I'm listening.
[He was grieving a family he just found out didn't exist. Be normal for a minute, Morgan...]
"No, it's alright. You're just stating what you know, that's fine."
He adjusted his sitting, leaning forward. He clasped his hands together.
"About a month later, I got a job at a supermarket or something. I picked up the guitar around that time, too. Something to do in my free time. It was good, I liked it. I kept working at the supermarket for a few months. Good job, I just didn't enjoy it anymore."
[The tone of Ziggy's voice unsettled Morgan deeply. He sounded decades older than the late teens they all were. Less like the laid back lizard they knew... more like a returning veteran.
Her fingers idly turned one of her sharpened rings on her hand, her thoughts entirely caught up in this life Ziggy was illustrating. How bizarre it must be to have years rewound like that?
But she wouldn't interrupt again. Ziggy needed to tell his story. It was too real, and he likely needed it to be acknowledged and understood by someone other than himself, so he wouldn't be carrying it alone.]
"I took up a job delivering food for people for a bit. Just until I figured out exactly what I was gonna do. That's when I decided to open up my own business. It was a music shop, I sold instruments and accessories for instruments, all that jazz. It was a little tough in the first few months, but it started picking up pace after a bit. It never got big, but it was nice. Sometimes I'd do some live music there. A year after I opened up the Music Hole—yeah, not the best name, I know—, I proposed to Izzy. It was nice. I wrote a whole song for it. I was so happy when she said yes, I felt like picking her up and running away to get married right then and there. I felt like it. Couldn't actually do it. I'm not that strong."
"After that, we planned the wedding and all for about half a year. I still remember that day like yesterday. Most of the Supernovas were there. I don't think Dex and Jewel were there, they had something going on that day. It was... Perfect. I couldn't think of anything that could make it better. She was so happy that day, and... I think that was one of the best moments of my life."
A smile spread onto his face. He looked down at his hands, idly rubbing his left ring finger. He wasn't used to the lack of a ring on it. The smile straightened out as he remembered where he was.
"I kept on with the shop. After a year, Izzy got pregnant. We read books, bought stuff for the baby, made a nursery, all that. After a few months, we found out it was twins, and then later... Zariah and Belle were in our arms. It was wonderful. They were one of the greatest things to happen to us. For a while, we couldn't get a lot of sleep. They were always crying at all hours of the night. Izzy always soothed them with lullabies. Eventually, they became quieter as they got older. A few years passed, and they were four years old already. We wanted to have a night out for our five year anniversary, so we asked if you could take them for a day or two. You said yes, and we dropped them off. And then... I woke up."
[Morgan hadn't heard from Ziggy since he'd banged on her door demanding to know where his kids (?!) were, and his continued silence worried her. At this point, though, it was pretty clear that if she wanted to understand what happened and hopefully help him at all, she would have to go to him.

Ziggy ran through the streets, his shoes pounding hard on the concrete. He turned the bend and slowed down, approaching the door. He raised up a fist and started pounding on Morgan's door. "Morgan! It's Cameron! Can you open the door, please?"

[Startled out of her books, Morgan bolted to the door. If Ziggy was banging on her door sounding panicked, he'd probably been attacked again, and time was of the essence. She had to get him inside before whatever was after him caught up.
Throwing the door open, Morgan ushered Ziggy inside, checking for pursuers before shutting the door again, locking it, and turning her attention to Ziggy, a wardspell flaring in her palm.]
What happened?? Is someone after you again, Ziggy??
Ziggy grabbed Morgan's shoulders, looking at her with worry in his eyes.
"Morgan, where are they? I dropped them off here just a bit ago, and then something happened, and I was in that weird pool of water underneath the Zero Point. Are they upstairs, or playing outside or something?"
He let go of her and started walking around the house quickly, looking in all of the rooms for a sign of something.
Ziggy swung open a closet door. Just clothes. Dammit. They weren't upstairs or downstairs. They probably ran outside or something. They knew to not go too far from the house, so that rules out running away.
Ziggy was shocked at Morgan's response. All by herself? All day? That can't be right.
"My kids, Morgan! I-I left them here a few hours ago with you! You said you could look after them for me while me and Izzy went out for our anniversary!"
He opened the door outside and looked around. Not a sign of them. Maybe on the other side of the house.
Ziggy struggled to get a grip on himself. He was so worried about his kids he couldn't really think straight.
"I told you, Morgan! I dropped the kids off here because you said that you would look after them while me and Izzy went out for our 5 year wedding anniversary! How do you not remember?"
He stepped back, freeing himself from Morgan's grasp. He closed his eyes and tried to calm down.
"I dropped them off here a few hours ago and you were there. You told me they would be fine with their aunt Morgan, and then I was in the pool of water underneath the Zero Point."
He slicked back his hair nervously, hitting his purple baseball cap. He took it off his head and looked at it. He hadn't seen this hat in a long time. He was pretty sure he threw it away or something. Why was he wearing it?
[Morgan blinked, then recovered herself. This time she kept her voice deliberately calm. Ziggy was clearly confused, and she didn't want to make it worse.]
Zig, you just got here less than a year ago, let alone met Breezabelle. You can't possibly have been married for five years when you haven't even been in the same Reality for one!
[She gestured to the rest of the place.]
And there aren't any kids here! I promise you, I'd've kept them safe if there were, but there aren't!
Ziggy looked up from his hat. What? No, that can't be right. He remembered everything, his wedding day, the first time he held his children, everything. But he knew Morgan, she wouldn't lie. She was right.
"What? No, I-I know that... I remember that day, Morgan. I know, that I..."
He looked down at his hat again. He had gotten rid of this hat years ago, it was falling apart. And yet, here it was, perfectly together. Even with the Superman autograph on the underside of the brim.

Ziggy's eyes shot open and he sat up. His clothes, wet from the water he landed in, stuck to his scales. He swallowed and looked down. He wasn't here a moment ago. Something must have happened. Last thing he remembered was dropping them off at...
Ziggy scrambled to his feet before taking off in a sprint.
Ziggy waded through the water near the Zero Point, watching as the shards pulled in and out like a heartbeat. He looked at the strands of pink that spewed out from the cracks, covering the island like a spiderweb. The wind funnel created by the Points presence was in arms reach of Ziggy, but he dared not touch it. He'd heard stories of what had happened to people who entered the Zero Point. He didn't want to become one of those people. He decided it was in his best interest to just walk away. The bed of the lake was wet and slimy, and while Ziggy started to walk away, one of those wet rocks went underneath his foot. He fell backwards, straight into the wind tunnel. He was launched up into the air, screaming, before beginning his descent. He hit the ground hard, and it all went dark.
