Frisk managed to force a laugh at his comment about the ketchup, though it wasn’t a very convincing one. She sat opposite him, still not looking at him, instead staring at her burger. Her legs kicked idly through the air under her chair–she was still too short for these things, only her head and the top of her shoulders made it over the side of the table.
She took a bite of her burger to try and avoid talking for a few more seconds before she set her hands in her lap, frowning.
“Well…uh…this is gonna sound weird…You said you saw me a couple days ago, right?”
Thump, thump, thump, went her feet against the chair legs.
“…I uh…I haven’t really seen you in…” She stared down into her lap and mumbled, “…weeks…”
“Weeks?”
Sans fell quiet. He was on the right track after all. He wasn’t sure why such a far-fetched hunch was correct, but it was.
“heh, what are you talking about kid? we were hanging out at grillby’s new place just last weekend.” Sans replied, his voice managing to cover up his worry. His tone had lost all jolliness when he added, “You’re serious, aren’t you?”
