Papyrus stiffened as the unfamiliar person–a human??–latched onto him. He was torn between the urge to shove the other off of him and the awareness that this could be yet another thing he just didn’t remember.

      “HOLD ON. GIVE ME A MOMENT.”

He compromised by attempting to gently pry her from his leg.

      “I APOLOGIZE, I… AM NOT REALLY SURE WHO YOU ARE.”

What? It hadn’t been that long, had it? Frisk frowned and obediently let go of the skeleton’s tibia, stepping back and staring up at him.

“Uhhh...It’s me...Frisk? The human? You fought me and then we had a date? I know I’ve been away a while...”

For a moment, she wondered if her friend was joking--but no, this was too mean of a joke for him. Sans might play at it, but even he’d probably be sarcastic enough to assure her he was just teasing...

are you certain you'll never hurt your friends, though? one day you might do it on accident. another day you might try to defend one and hurt them instead of the one you intended to defend them from. ＭＯＮＳＴＥＲＳ are able to be harmed in many ways other than physical, after all. if you become angry, who's to say whether or not someone will get hurt? and with every bit of harm you do, intentional or not, love will give way to ＬＯＶＥ. consider this a warning for the future, child

the player is not Chara, no. but they do work together from time to time. one who manipulates and controls, the other who wrests control away. if things go well enough for them, then Chara becomes more powerful than even the player. that can only happen if you completely lose your own ＤＥＴＥＲＭＩＮＡＴＩＯＮ, however, and become filled with ＬＯＶＥ instead. so keep your will, and indeed your wits, about you. continue to refuse. the fate of your ＳＯＵＬ depends on it.

just because you don't know something is there doesn't mean you can't listen to it. a subtle voice over your shoulder, whispering things into your ear; a nudge here, a slide there. a voice without words. a will without form. their influence can be felt. be on your guard from outside influences, and you should be fine. though if you let your guard down... you may wake up one day to find yourself worn by a ＤＥＭＯＮ, and unable to wrest control away from them.

Sadly, she wasn’t as aware of the fourth wall.

“I know it’s been a really long time since I said anything, I’m sorry! I’ve just been really really really busy with my friends, and with human ambassador things I’ve gotta do now. It’s been really crazy trying to get humans used to monsters--and monsters used to us!”

“Wow, that’s hard to believe. A year since I met all my best friends, a year since that whole big adventure happened...With all the timeline stuff, I know I’ve lost contact with some of those guys from my original adventure, but I’m still so happy to know you guys, or to have known you before.
