// I know I said I’d be back on my SMT blogs after the con, but I think I’m really needing a break from them. I haven’t been able to write up any replies that I’ve been satisfied with. These guys’ll be on hiatus for a while until I can get my muses for them back. Until that time comes, you’ll be able to find me over on my Steven blog, for those interested.

"Very well. I am glad that I had not disrupted you." It certainly looked like he was in the middle of something. Important agency paperwork perhaps. She doesn’t want to inquire about it further though. Don’t want to seem a bit invading after all. Her eyes were kept on the older man, hands resting on her lap.
The girl gave a nod in response. She figured that Raidou must be busy with something. He’s so well collected in keeping to his duties. Certainly one attribute she respects greatly. “Oh no, it is just fine! I already did have the conjecture that he would not be present. I simply came for a visit, that is all.” She stated as she shook her head lightly.
"Coffee would be alright. Thank you." Oh dear, he sounded rather strained after saying that inquiry. Was business getting to him perhaps? But he appears looks fine since she saw him after peaking in the office. Maybe she was just looking into it too much. Or that she still is pretty unsure about making a visit today.
"That so? Well, a little company's always nice to have." It's true; it's easy to get lonely around here. Usually he's the only one around, since Raidou's generally either out running errands or on the job. That isn't to say the peace and quiet isn't appreciated every now and then, but Narumi thinks he prefers the place on its busier days.
It's not long before Narumi has a cup of coffee prepared for his guest, which he offers to her with a smile. With that done, he takes a seat just across from her after grabbing his own mug from his desk. "So! How are things back in Tsukigata Village? Well, I hope?" He's positive that everything's probably been just fine with Nagi there to take care of things, though.
"I am a client of his." He quietly says, closing the door.
"You must be his boss."
A long pause.
"The man with cheap taste in furniture."
"'Ch-Cheap taste in--'...!? There's nothing wrong with my agency!" Just where is Raidou picking up clients like this from, anyway...? He supposes a paying customer is a paying customer no matter how you cut it, but still.
"Did you come all this way just to run that mouth of yours? If you're looking for Raidou, he's not in right now."
{ღ} —— “You sure? It might have more of an impact if we both go. He kind of abandoned you, after all.”
"Oh, he'll get what's coming to him for that, don't you worry. I'll leave it in your capable hands."
"Tae wants to know if you're free to go to the dessert parlor for breakfast when we wake up." Chances are she's going to barge into the agency and drag them both out anyway, but at least he warned Narumi beforehand.
"Oh? Yeah, count me in. Awfully nice of her to ask.
… Maybe too nice. What does she want?”
"What cheap furniture you have."
"YOU TAKE THAT BACK."
{ღ} —— “And there we have it! Now which one of us should be the one to grab Raidou?”
"It's all you, Ms. Asakura."
{ღ} —— “You’d be willing to help a dame if she asks enough, right? Just think about all the info I’ve given Raidou to help out with his cases! Okay, why don’t we put it like this: You can either pay me back by calling me for jobs or free coffee. Your pick.”
"Back to square one, huh... Guess I'm not winning this one. Should've known better than to try and argue with you. I give."
{ღ} —— “I’m not kidding! It’s not like I always treat this place like a cafe, either! I drop by to check up on you guys and give you info, too!
“And you’re not the only one trying to keep a job here! If you called me, maybe I’d have some spare money to pay for your coffee, huh?”
"How many times do I have to tell you we don't traffic in information before it gets through that pretty little head of yours? Take a hint."
{ღ} —— “Yeah, I don’t think so. I’ll start paying for your coffee when you start calling me for jobs. I’ve got articles to write, y’know, and you guys are the ones with all the juicy tidbits. Quid pro quo.
“You’re right, though: This isn’t actually open for discussion. I’m making my coffee and that’s that.”
"... You're kidding. No, Tae, this isn't how this was supposed to go! You can't keep treating this place like your own personal cafe! I'm trying to run a business here!"
{ღ} —— “Oh, I think Raidou’s fine. If there really was something wrong with him, you would’ve gone after him by now, right? I think it’s better to deal with the lying sack of honey in front of me.”
"... Jeez. Well, if you're not pulling any punches, then neither am I. Let's talk business! Raidou and I got into an argument. We reached an agreement and decided that you need to start paying for your cups of coffee. Oh, and this isn't actually open for discussion."
{ღ} —— “Let me think about that for a— yeah, you would. And you have. And when has Raidou ever lied to me?”
"I'm hurt. And anyway, isn't that a problem? If he's being sketchy, shouldn't you be a little more concerned about him? Go and see what's up. After all, it's not like him, right?"
