The Camera

It's rare to see Peter without his camera.

MJ often recalls the first time she saw him with it, on a random day during sophomore year when he wouldn't stop taking pictures at school all day long. Since the fateful day when he likely found the beat up, old thing in someone's dumpster, it remained permanently stationed in Peter's hands, or in the side pocket of his backpack, where it stayed ready to be used to capture a moment at any second. At first, it was just the pictures. He took so many, and couldn't figure out how to take any without the flash on, which constantly blinded just about every student at Midtown. He used a lot of them for the school newspaper, which he constantly was writing for, and also to print pictures of his friends to put in his room. He had a collection of pictures taken around the city, of cool buildings, sunsets, and scenes that he thought were cool to look at. Harry could begrudgingly recount the time that Peter found out it could video too, when he asked Peter to take a picture of him hitting Flash Thompson in the back of the head with peas with a spoon as his catapult during school lunch one day. As Peter went to take the picture he saw Mr. Dobbs walking over to check out the commotion, which caused Peter to almost drop the camera, which ended up with an accidental press of an undiscovered video button, and of Harry's aim to accidentally shift. Peter ended up with a perfectly captured video of mashed potatoes hitting Mr. Dobbs square on his bald head, which additionally helped with Peter's popularity around the school for a short time as the video was shared.  From then on it was inevitable that Peter was always recording some sort of video. He often used it to make his own little video diaries, documenting things he *maybe shouldn't*. Even though he was the only person he ever let watch them back, it was fun for him to mess around with his friends and to watch back his adventures. Even if poor Happy did have to wipe the chip often.

Not gonna lie… Watching Quaterbacks with Joe when he said “Yeah.. You Like That” everytime they complimented his jacket sent me 😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨
