Global Warming and Humans

Climate change is happening now. Evidences being seen support the fact that the change cannot simply be explained by natural variation. The most recent scientific assessments have confirmed that this warming of the climate system since the mid-20th century is most likely to be due to the observed increase in greenhouse gas concentrations from human activities , such as the burning of fossil fuels and lane use change. Current warming has increasingly posed quite considerable challenges to man and the environment, and will continue do so in the future.. presently, some autonomous adaptation is taking, but we need to consider a more pro-active adaptation planning in order to ensure sustainable development. it looks like there’s no way to stop Global warming, but just ignoring it won’t make it go away. That never works! The best thing we can do is to stop burning fossil fuels and not cut down so many trees. Not only will that help the environment, but it should keep the earth’s temperature from rising so high. Maybe doing so could make the Planet Earth a much more happier place for people, animals and plants.

TOP 5 MOST ACTIVE VOLCANOES IN THE PHILIPPINES

1. Mayon Volcano- It is the most active volcano in the Philippines with over 50 explosions. Its last eruption was on Nov. 2014 and still ongoing. It is beautiful because of it’s shape but it’s dangerous. It is found in the Albay provice.

2. Taal Volcano- It’s one of the smallest volcano in the world and it already erupted 33 times. It is the second most active and it is found in Batangas. It last erupted in 1977.

3. Kanlaon- Also called Kanla-on or Canlaon, it is the 3rd most active and it’s found on Negros Island. Its last explosion was in 2006 and it already erupted 26 times.

4. Bulusan Volcano- Also called mount Bulusan, this composite volcano is found in Sorsogon. Its last eruption was only last 2010 to 2011. It already erupted 17 time

5.Ragang Volcano-Also called mount papayungan and Blue mountain, this volcano is ranked 7th on the tallest mountains in the Philippines and its last recorded eruption was way back 141 years ago. It is found in Lanao del Sur and cotabato. It already erupted 7 times.

-Ranges from emission of gases, non-explosive lava emissions to extremely violent bursts that may last many hours.

-The types of eruptions determine the relative volumes and types of    volcaniclastic masterial and lava flows, consequently the shapes and sizes of    volcanoes.

-A volcanic event occurs when there’s a sudden or constinuing release of energy caused by near surface or surface magma movement.

Earthquake Preparedness

*Before an Earthquake

-Practice how to “Drop, Cover, and Hold on!”

-Secure items that could fall and cause injuries (mirrors, bookshelves and etc.)

-Store critical supplies (e.g. Water) and documents

-Make a family emergency communication plan.

*During an Earthquake

If inside a building

-Do not run outside, stay where you are until shaking stops.

-”Drop, Cover and Hold on!”
