After years of neglect, my deck looks pretty pathetic. I was going to wait a few more years to do something about it, but when I was out barbequing in the summer and fell through one of the boards on the deck, I knew it was time to quit procrastinating. Thankfully I was not hurt, so I now I had a project to do during the summer.
Well, that didn’t happen. In fact, I didn’t have time to do any water damage repair to the deck at all because I was so busy. Fortunately that has now changed since business has slowed down at the shop and I now have some free time.
I decided I needed to work on the deck now if I was ever going to get it done.
So, that is what I have been doing. I spent the better part of a day demolishing the old boards and assessing what was left. Thankfully it was only the planks that were rotted and the bottom of the deck looks fine, so I won’t have to replace it.
It is going to be a lot of work, but since I have the time to do it, that is exactly what I am going to do. I don’t want to get to the point where I leave this project half-done, so hopefully I can get it done by the end of the weekend.
The deck is going to look so good by the time it is done.
