“Ah, and yet they couldn’t turn my head now if they tried,” Stephane reminded her as he leaned in pressing a delicate kiss to her lips as he pulled back smiling down at her. “It would be a lie if I said I didn’t think about having more children running around here. If all we had is John I would be perfectly happy, but having others would give you more to distract yourself with when he’s with Francis and Mary. Besides it would be a great disservice to the world if we didn’t have a daughter running around our house that took after you,” if it wasn’t what Lola wanted though he would find a way to be okay with that. He was always going to put her happiness as his priority. “Nothing makes me happier than you do though is something I want to make sure you are not blind to that fact.”
“We would have a much different marriage if they did.” She knew that others in court (Catherine in particular) considered her a fool for believing that Stephane was a loyal husband. Lola understood why. Even if his reputation hadn't preceded him, men had the luxury of being unfaithful. Lola knew she didn't have to worry, and she didn't care what anyone had to say about it. “I am happy to hear you say that,” Lola said with a smile spreading slowly across her face again. Her grip on her son was steady but she readjusted anyways, acutely aware there would come a time in coming months she may not be able to hold him so easily. It was news she hadn't known quite how to tell him, but to hear him so welcomed to the idea gave her hope. “I know that, Stephane. That is a fact I am very well aware of.”
