“We get such a kick out of looking forward to pleasures and rushing ahead to meet them that we can’t slow down enough to enjoy them when they come. We are therefore a civilisation which suffers from chronic disappointment—a formidable swarm of spoiled children smashing their toys.”

Staying Positive
The thing about life is, there are so many lessons to learn, whether personal, professional or about how to cope in the University called “LIFE”. The challenge we face during these times is more geared towards the fact that they tend to come all at once, that they tend to overwhelm you when you’re feeling low and that in a time of crisis you find yourself isolated instead of surrounded by the people you’ve built this life with.
The reality of it all is that you are alone, in a way that you will make the final decision, you will have to answer the questions being thrown at you, and you are the only one who can ‘sign your life away’.
So, how do we deal with these kinds of situations, how do we gear ourselves for the unexpected? Quite simply, know who you are, what your limits are and what your capabilities are because in a time of crisis you alone will know what calms you down, what gives you peace of mind and when you need to ask for advice or assistance.
I believe that ‘every dog has its’ and even though you might feel that you’re being treated unfairly and that there is just no way out of the struggle, know this, never lose hope and belief in your Faith, a verse that has always come to light: “I will be your God throughout your lifetime - until your hair is white with age, I made you and I will care for you. I will sustain you and rescue you”
Isaiah 46:4
Nothing and no one is greater than your creator, belief in His existence and that which he has put before you is only to teach you new things in life, give you more experience in dealing with various situations and to help you grow through what you go through.
My personal suggestions for staying positive:
- Healthy eating plan (we all have binging moments, during a time of crisis it’s more important to maintain a healthy eating habit)
- Exercise (15-minute walk, oxygen, and blood circulation)
- Meditation (becoming still and one with your thoughts might seem ‘silly’ but how else do you get to truly listen to your mind body and soul amongst all the chaos?)
- Social gatherings (continue to do the things you love and don’t back down because someone is trying to put you down)
Nothing comes easy, it takes practice and time and usually both you have the ability to do or provide yourself.
“In today's rush we all think too much, seek too much, want too much and forget about the joy of just Being.”
Eckhart Tolle
