Penny missed the rest of their family, spending as much time with Judy as her sister's busy schedule allowed. But Will, their parents, Don, Robot - Penny was refusing to give up hope they'd see each other again.

So when her dad told her he had other kids from his real life, Penny was on a mission. They wanted to meet the rest of their new family.

It had been easy to look up Carl's address, turning up with a box of cookies. Store bought, obviously. They weren't Oreos, but it was an icebreaker. "Hi. Are you Carl Grimes? Cause your daddy is also my daddy, which means you're my brother. How old are you? Gotta know if I get to be the big sister or if I'm still stuck being the middle child."

Sometimes, Nathan pushed his fun loving lifestyle a little too far. He wasn't sure exactly how much he'd drunk at this party, or how he'd gotten outside, but there he was all the same. "There's life out there." He was absolutely convinced of that, looking up at the stars with a wild gesture of the bottle in his hand. "And they've visited. I don't care what anyone says, Roswell had really strange things happening, and I know it was aliens. One day I'll prove it." It wasn't just a drunk ramble; Nathan would have the same conviction completely sober, and he didn't care if people thought he was a conspiracy theorist over it.

No one should be alone. Nathan was a friendly person by instinct, so when he saw someone sitting alone on a beautiful day, he couldn't just let her be alone. "Hey. Mind if I sit?" He gestured to the spot next to her before taking the seat. "You look lonely. Nothing worse than that, so I thought I'd say hi. You know, it's funny, I feel like I've seen your face somewhere. Do you go to the university?" There was some nagging idea he'd seen her face in his research, but it couldn't have been any time recently or he'd recognise her. So where had he seen her face? "Oh shit, I just realised that might sound like a line, and I don't mean it like that. You're really pretty and all, but I'm kinda into one of my friends."

A beach party had sounded like plenty of fun idea to him, with Nathan not taking much seriously in life outside his search for extraterrestrial life. Granted, he felt like no one in Sydney could dismiss the idea, but still, he really wanted to meet an alien and find out if they'd ever been to Roswell. For tonight though, his only thought was fun. Seeing someone who didn't seem to be having as much as him, Nathan hoped to cheer them up. "Hey. There's free drinks, I just grabbed one - just over there."

While the education was here was well below his level, Pavel had still made a serious effort. Well, that was a lie, he coasted through the classes, but it wasn't his fault they covered material he'd mastered at 11.

But there were some things he did like to challenge himself with. Picking out an extra course for on top of his engineering studies wasn't going too easily, the genius debating.

"Do I want to learn Swahili or take pwe-med? Lieutenant Uhura and I once talked about languages but maybe Doctor Bones will like me better if I do." Both would be a challenge, yes, but it'd be better than being bored all the time.

Realising that Jo was Jo McCoy, as in Doctor McCoy, it'd been a shock to the system. Pavel didn't want to stay away from her, he'd grown to really care about her, but it did make things complicated. He was going to have to tell the doctor, and hope that his oath to do no harm was going to stick.

And he was going to need lots and lots of courage. One bottle wasn't going to cut it, the Russian went through more than that on a regular basis.

Grabbing a trolley, he stopped by the alcohol aisle at the shop, and was loading bottle after bottle of vodka into it. "It is best bwand. I can giwe you one, if you want, but I need the west. I am doing something I do not want to soon."

While there were some interesting things about being in the past, mostly Pavel found it a bit frustrating. He made the best of it, he always did, but everything was so primitive, it made the young genius sigh over how slow everything took.

Somehow, he alone was supposed to fix the Endeavour? Sure, Pavel admired Kirk, but that was a ridiculous ask when they didn't have the parts needed.

He was at a shop, trying to decide which old-fashioned material would be the best substitute, when he noticed a woman with what he'd really like to call a robot or a droid, he'd need to get a closer inspection. "Excuse me, hello. Your friend there, do you mind if I take a look? I have not seen more adwanced work outside my own work in Sydney, it is wery interesting."

Jyn was frustrated, which was not out of the ordinary for her. But this time it was because of Cassian. She knew he was a good, intelligent man. How the hell hadn't he figured out she was flirting with him? Even the damn droid knew it, if xyr smug look was any indication when xe left with Cassian. "I have never had a man drive me to drink before. Don't know which of us is more pathetic." Maybe she should find some fling so she'd stop thinking about him. It wasn't like he'd realised she'd asked him out, so why not? She deserved some fun.

Given the not so legal nature of Jyn's job, she often had odd tasks to do. Today, she was studying schematics. It was actually a better use of her skills than the jobs she usually had to take. Taking up a table at the library, she had the blueprints lying out. It didn't matter if anyone saw her research, but she still looked up when someone approached her table. "Don't move them. They're in order, and I spent two hours getting them that way." She knew she couldn't avoid sharing the table, but they could wait five minutes for her to get things moved in her own order.

Jyn didn't have many friends, and she wouldn't say Han was a friend, but she didn't mind his company. He was not as bad as others, and he was from her galaxy. So when she wasn't working, and Cassian was around K2, she figured she'd drop by. "Still working on that piece of junk?" Her tone wasn't as sharp as she'd use for most people, and there was even a small smile on Jyn's lips. "If you've come to your senses and given up, there's a scrapyard I've been meaning to take K2 to, I can drop your trash off too."

It was too kriffing hot, Jyn was sure she was about to melt. She'd spread out on the beach, despite not being a big fan of beaches. But her boss wanted eyes on someone who apparently wanted to die of heat stroke. "Okay, what is the appeal?" She fixed her hair up into a ponytail, trying to cool herself down a bit. "I've spent an hour on this beach, I still don't get what's so fun about baking in the sun." Yes, she was being grumpy. It was a general state for her, unless around people she liked, and that was a very short list.

Jyn was well aware she was taking up two seats, her legs propped up on the second without caring if anyone might want it. “No, I’m not moving.” She didn’t bother to look at the person who walked up, figuring that was what they’d come to ask. Until her ‘boss’, and Jyn always used that term lightly, came back, there was nothing to do, so the former rebel had settled down with a book. “The man I work for is in there, if you have a complaint about my conduct, either take it to him or shove it up your kriffing a-” The last word was overridden by the sound of the receptionist clearing her throat loudly, making her smirk.

Knowledge was power. As a droid, xe had always believed that, and even though xe was human now, that belief hadn’t changed. So upon hearing that there was a Library that knew everything, there had only been one logical choice. 

Xe would find everything pertaining to xyr world, and read all of it. Or watch - it seemed suitable that xyr galaxy was using technology that the rest of this world was barely understanding, even if xe found it all rather primitive. 

But xyr story played out exactly as xe remembered, and as fitting as it was to learn Rogue One’s message had been sent out, it was still at such a high cost. Closing the DVD case, xe sighed heavily. “I am not certain that was worth it. I have learned nothing useful.”

There was always so much waste in any city, no matter what galaxy it was in. K2 did not see the point in it. Xe generated very little waste, even as a human now, because xe knew how to put things in bins. But humans persisted in printing out more and more rubbish every day.

Handed a flyer, xe scanned it quickly before dismissing the content entirely. But waste was not in xyr nature, turning to the next person. "This event is not applicable to me, I have no interest in sporting events. They only encourage toxic masculinity and poor behaviour. Perhaps you would be interested?"

K2 tried to pass the flyer to the stranger, though xe suspected xe would have to take it over to a bin. Humans might not look after their planet, but the former droid would. Ironic, really, but K2 did enjoy irony.

Elain glanced over the others shoulder, a curious glint in her eyes as she pursed her lips to the side in thought. "I'm not familiar with cosmetic alterations." She admitted nervously, a lilt painting her voice. "I'm not quite sure if it could be safe or not." Elain plucked a similar looking box and glanced it over herself.

"I'm not sure radium would be useful in this, but perhaps it was added unintentionally." Elain had been struggling with sorting her own emotions, her own reality. Finding out that not only was Prythian wasn't the only world affected by whatever drew them to Australia.

"I'm sorry that I cannot be more helpful, I do think the color will compliment you well though."

Darby wasn't great at chatting to strangers, despite their rambling out loud, but they still smiled at the woman. They thought the world could always use more kindness, and even though they weren't good at knowing how to be normal, they could do kind. "Yeah, they did all kinds of weird shit. I read about these women who worked in watch factories, they had radium poisoning, and that was in the 1920s. I can't get it out of my head."

Reluctantly, Darby put the box back on the shelf. "I think I need to do more research. I know it suits me, I used to do all kinds of crazy shit with my hair. Probably predictable right, I got dumped and decided to change my appearance." Not that Darby blamed Bill for leaving them, but it'd changed a lot for them. "It helped though. Made me feel a little bit more like me, you know? Never really fit in, so why shouldn't I look the way I want?"

life was slow in sydney, but eli didn’t mind. he wasn’t being hunted, wasn’t fighting for his life, and he got his land…even if it wasn’t where he originally wanted. his home was modest, but impressive considering he built it all himself. he was in the middle of repairs when he heard the sound of feet crunching leaves.

but when he turned, it wasn’t his friendly neighbor.

all he could do was laugh.

“was wonderin’ when you’d show up.” he joked dryly. somehow he knew she would. too many times they had lost each other and wound up finding each other again. not even a strange time jump was enough to keep them apart apparently.

he was glad to see her, more than glad. but…there was so much between them now, her sickness, their separation…it would only hurt him more to get his hopes up. she’d be okay in sydney, he knew, but that had to be first priority. so he kept in check, not knowing exactly how to react. “got soup inside if you’re hungry. welcome inside, anyways.”

She'd debated with herself over whether she should look for Eli. At first, Cornelia had decided against it, for all the same reasons they went their separate ways once before.

But being here had changed things in a way she'd never dreamed.

According to three different doctors, the first doctor was correct, she was no longer sick. The idea of not wasting away, not destroying all that she loved if she loved them recklessly, it was difficult to wrap her mind around, and Cornelia was still afraid.

She had hope now though, and that hope had led her into a search for Eli. It hadn't been an easy search, exactly, but Cornelia had decided to focus on that hope and look at places with land.

The thought of Eli getting to have that land, that home he wanted, it'd brought her peace. Maybe it was selfish to be glad when she'd discovered he was here, but she did want to see him again.

"Oh, I apologise, did I keep you waiting?" His reaction to her turning up made her smile, taking a step closer. "I'm terribly sorry, I hate to trouble you." Her smile grew.

Eli had that way about him. The first time she'd seen him, he'd interested her, but she'd never realised what he'd come to mean to her. "Thank you, Eli. I wasn't sure you'd really want me turning up on your doorstep, but I - I suppose I couldn't resist."

William was not entirely happy about Eliza's job for one sole reason. He worried about her. His feelings had developed even more than he should have let them, and he still felt as though he owed her father everything, and it worried him, the thought she might come to harm.

But he'd come to terms with the fact she was going to keep doing the work, and she was good at it. All that was left was to protect her as she did the work.

If she'd let him.

Knowing she'd be dropping by about a case, he'd decided to wait for her arrival to implement one of his plans. "Miss Scarlet." William leaned against the doorway to his office, looking at her. "Might I have a word?"
