So...

Life got a bit crazy. I lost some passion. I left my job. I stewed in melancholy and let the world crumble around my ears.

But... that’s life, isn’t it? That’s how things go. What matters is what one does after the fall-out. Whether we stand up and wipe the ashes from our forms or let ourselves be consumed.

All of that, admittedly, was a long-winded way to say that I am archiving this blog, and starting it back up. Probably under the same username, tbh, because I don’t have the creativity for anything else. And it looks nice.

Thank you, all of you, who are still here and have been patient with me on this. You have no idea how much I have missed you all.

Idk but I’m not sure how... attached I am to this blog anymore?? I adore Alisaie, and I’ve had some great interactions here, but perhaps it is just a natural part of the fandom quieting down? Even before I put myself on this semi-hiatus, it seemed harder and harder to find people to write with. 

So, that said, I’m not entirely sure I’ll be keeping Alisaie much longer. For now, it’s here, however.

Well, I’ve gotten through the patch (except the Ruby Weapon)

Time to hand in my Writer card. I was so sure Emet-Selch had come back as Ardbert. I was so damn sure....

The route they went with Liddy makes sense, though, and now I’m pretty sure that Venat is the one guiding Zenos instead of it being an untempered Lahabrea.

I’m curious about the shoebill (emet-shoebill, maybe??) and I do think Zenos will be the next person to take on the mantle of Elidibus (since it’s a title and not a name).

And am I the only one that thinks Liddybert is acting a lot like Syndrome with his mass-distribution of the Echo?

Not gonna lie

I’m so hyped. I was convinced from the moment I saw and read Zombert’s lines (Zombie Ardbert) that he was Emet-Selch

And I really just woke up so I’m still becoming one with the world today

But Oh is this a good way to start!

Did I pick up AST so I can learn more about Sharlayan? Yes Do I also just want an excuse to get more mounts? Also yes.

So a Quick Update

My department of the store has been sans manager for a month now. I’ve been taking up those responsibilities in the interim, and my work hours have skyrocketed because of it, not including the matter of my commute adding in. 

We’re looking to be getting more people in starting next week (one of them as a full-time worker, which would cut my hours, unfortunately, back to less than ideal) and hopefully a manager within the next two.

I’m going to continue to be a bit quiet here simply because with everything going on, I just don’t have the spoons a lot of the time to handle work, then coming home, babysitting two blogs, and everything else.

Hopefully soon enough I’ll be able to put more attention here, but for now know that I am here, that I’m not going on hiatus, and that I will respond to things. I just might be slow about it.

Sleep. It was something that Aria had been struggling with for years. All the horrors she had seen during her years of forced service in the army, the countless corpses lying on the ground of the Plain of Carteneau, Bahamut managing to escape from Dalamud, all the battles she had had to fight since she had become the Warrior of the Light… All this haunted her and her tormented mind could no longer find real restorative rest. She slept only a few hours a night, at most, just enough to rest her body, when she did not have insomnia.

Aria sat not far from young Elezen, reaching out her hands to the campfire to try to keep warm. In vain. 

“Most of the time, when we can’t sleep, it’s because something’s clouding our thoughts. Am I wrong?” she said in a soft tone, looking up at Alisaie, knowing full well that it implied that she herself had her own demons.

        Wrong? Far from it.

        Alisaie picked up a stick and poked at the fire, watching sparks drift lazily into the air while logs fell over their exhausted brothers. Aria had extended an olive branch by divulging her own troubles on the matter of sleep... should she not return the courtesy?

        “I doubt it gets tiring being right all the time,” she muttered, trying to force a laugh into the sound. It failed.

        “And yet, I cannot place my finger on exactly what keeps me awake. If it is everything, it is just as easily nothing.” Alisaie found her gaze following the fire upwards into the velvet night. “If I could sleep, perhaps the Twelve would see fit to show me the reason in a dream. They really are a bitter sort here on the First; The Twelve of the Source might be more gracious.”

        She stifled a yawn, eyes closed and face momentarily drawn long. “Sorry. I rambled. I blame exhaustion. But... you understand, do you not?”

Moogles and Mayhem

“ Fine . ”  He turned and knelt so Alisaie could climb onto his back once more , and quickly gathered his hair up to tie it out of the way .  It didn’t bother him when the wind whipped it around , but she probably wouldn’t want a mouthful of hair if it could be prevented .

“ Hop on and let’s be off . ”  The sooner Alisaie climbed on , the sooner they could return to the moogles - then leave .  Fury but he hated being roped into completing their errands for them .  If not for Alisaie’s insistence , he wouldn’t have agreed in the first place .

        She scaled Mt. Estinien once more, this time clinging to the Dragoon’s broad back, legs linking at the ankle around his waist. It was not particularly comfortable, but this was armor. If anything, it gave her plenty of places to grab onto.

        “Right. Ready when you are.” Oh, may the Twelve be merciful and he not drop her! Or she not grow sick with the movements that were very likely to be incredibly jerky.

        And if they were kind and giving, this would be the last errand that the Moogles would give them, and she could quit his company. How Alphinaud could idolize this man, she was unsure.

   THERE WAS CONCERN IN HIS EYES as he glanced up to meet Alisaie’s at the mention of being lightheaded. His mouth turned to a thin frown, slowly but carefully peeling back the dressing, looking at the skin and making sure nothing was abnormal. 

   “Yes, but healing takes time. And infections can still occur.” I’m sure you know. It looked fine at least. “Though you being lightheaded has me concerned… Are you sure it is the mountain air and not the poison?” He stared at Alisaie for a moment. It was out of concern, obviously, that he was prying so much. And who knows what could happen even if it has been some time since the injury had been inflicted. Call it over protective or not, he didn’t want anything to go wrong. “Please be honest with me, Alisaie.” 

        This was nothing she did not know... and yet, it was everything that she was ignoring. There was more to do. Help to be given. Work to undergo. She needed to be in top shape, even if she was not.

        “Distra...” Alisaie could pout all she wanted, but it would do nothing. In a battle of stubborn wills, he was a bit stronger; such came with being the Warrior of Light. She sighed through her nose, then looked away. It was hard to meet his eyes.

        “...Maybe I still feel a little weak. But it is nothing I cannot work through! Please, just let me come with you! I can manage, I promise!”

I’ll be back on here tomorrow, probably I’ve been having a _very_ rough week. The blog is not forgotten, I just needed a bit of rest.
