Elijah Henderson tapped his fingers consistently to the beat of the music playing in his ears, oblivious to the world around him. The morning was dragging on bleakly and if it wasnât for the hot interns that came in buying their bosses coffee, the coffee shop wouldâve been deserted. With the laptop in front of him he typed away viscously, only stopping to sneak a glance at the fighting couple in front of him or the girls who giggled in his direction. He had a task to do, one that he was being payed heavily for, and heâd be damned if he didnât get the job done. Hacking was, for lack of a better word, not difficult if you knew what to look for. Eli had always found it quite simple, being able to work through his own created program, but perhaps that was just his generation. He was a little more SKILLED than others, and heâd created a bit of a name for himself â the moniker âScorpionâ had followed him everywhere since people started hitting him up for access to their wifeâs computer, their exâs cell phone, their best friendâs bank account. All illegal activity, but Eli was smart, and Scorpion was smarter.
He brought the coffee cup to his lips after a moment and leaned back in his chair, satisfied of what heâd accomplished. A successful hack, and in record time too. The smug expression on his face widened as he turned to look at the queue waiting, eyes zeroing in on an intern with miles and miles of legs. Hot. When she was caught staring, her gaze shifted down and his smile widened. Slender fingers reached for the laptop in front of him as he mentally saved his progress and shut the system down, knowing that heâd be able to continue better at his home. With his messenger bag slung over one shoulder and the cold coffee now discarded, he slipped in line again, knowing heâd need another to satisfy his fix before he endured his familyâs chaos.
