What if: Shrek but the roles are reversed
Yo I had deep shower thoughts about this after seeing this picture and it’d be like.
The roles are reversed but their personalities are the same. And in this case, Fiona is a monster and “ugly” woman trying to act prim and proper in a society that won’t accept here. Shrek is dirty prince boy who has no manners.
Fiona is forced to rescue him and their love blooms from Shrek being just openly brash and stuff, showing Fiona you shouldn’t have to force yourself to be someone you’re not especially to people who’ve already decided they’d never accept you. And helps her embrace the “scary” and “gross” ogre sides she’s sealed away for years.
He’s locked away for the same reason OG Fiona was, needing to be saved by someone and break his “curse,” and he’s taken it as the world doesn’t want him as a dirty scary ogre so why should he want to leave his tower into that world? Even if his “curse” is broken, he’s still going to be ill-mannered which isn’t “proper” for a prince like him. And he’d scare rescuers away for years, (maybe with Donkey? :) And Dragon is Fiona’s noble steed in this version? :))) “WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN MY TOWER?!”
He doesn’t fight “properly” like Fiona does but he makes do with being scary and bonking people on the head. And Fiona is impressed by the lack of plans but ability to still defend himself especially for someone who’s suppose to be a fancy nimble prince. And Fiona talks back to him like in the OG but this time it isn’t someone standing up to scary ogre Shrek which he’d never experienced, but someone talking back to spoiled prince Shrek which in this AU he also never experienced because of his status.
The sunset scene is Shrek cooking rats, and Fiona is like, um gross? I could cook a wonderful stew you know? And Shrek is like, when you’re locked in a tower all your life you learn to love to eat anything. And she tries it and is like oh hey this is great!
Shrek is worried about confessing and revealing his ogre self to Fiona because he’s afraid she won’t like him if he’s not a handsome prince.
