I am VERY excited to have visited inner Joburg City and discover some amazing South African Artwork. First two pictures are in front of Jimmy Law paintings.

THE SECRET GARDEN
I could have been in Italy or some quaint village in Europe. A magical moment lost in the city, blessed with a show of flowers.

LINGA-LONGA, BELA BELA walk to the cross.
I took a few days break this November to catch my breath and do a bit of soul searching. Linga-Longa is perfect for that, 22 hectares of open space, natural beauty and fresh air.
The top end of the property elevates into a steep hill with a wooden cross near the peak. It’s a relatively easy walk even for the “not-so-fit” but still steep enough to feel the climb.
So as Elvis, the dogs and I negotiated our footsteps up the rocky terrain, crouching under branches and around trees I couldn’t help notice patches of beauty. The thing that I love about this kind of vegetation is how hardy and persistent the plant and animal life is. Nearly every rock surface displays it’s own “natural rock-art” or lichen and ferns that look like they belong in a rain forest sprout out in hues of green. Visually it’s a great illustrative parallel of how life even in times of difficulty and can produce beautiful results.
