Finally winter break!

I was called down, and went downstairs to help. An hour drive to go help my Uncle and Aunt move to a new house closer to us, how lucky am I?!?!

yknow what yeah. hamilton the musical is deservedly one of the most well known shows of all time, but everytime i see it or listen to it, i can't help but be reminded that it's based off of real people and events, and its dramatized to the point where i can't tell what's trying to be historical and what's there for the sake of theatre. Lafayette, laurens, mulligan, burr and hamilton did not meet in a new york city bar in 1776 but by god is it a great couple of intro songs

literally. im watching it in theater rn (because its showing in movie theaters rn) and oh my god. it deserves its status for multiple reasons.

everything it tries to accomplish EXCEPT for historical accuracy, it does EXTREMELY WELL.

im at the intermission right now and the segway into non stop is really good. it puts so much more context into the song than just listening to it on cd.

and fuck man. im a sucker for media where no character is exactly entirely evil. burr kills hamilton but you can understand why? cool! great! i wish he wasnt a real person though.

the only fucking villain is the king which yeah deserved. in real life and in the musical.

i love leitmotifs. i love when one character says something earlier on to another character, then later on that another character says the same exact thing to the one aforementioned character.
