an alarming amount of people on this website seems to agree that there should be censorship in place to filter out bad content. and i’m just... what?? do you realize how fucked up that sounds?
as someone who lives in a place with super awful censorship law in place, lemme tell you: it’s super fucked up. it’s annoying, at worst it’s putting some people in danger. what’s hilarious? it doesn’t always work.
because people will seek bad contents. because people will try to find out why it’s censored and they’ll find it one way or another, sometimes through... not so very legal means. (like piracy level illegal)
because it assumes that people are not capable of self-censorship by default. it assumes that people are dumb --- well, yes... people are dumb, they do dumb things for the sake of being dumb, not because some people in the position of power tell them that they’re too dumb for said bad contents.
people said that putting bad content on the internet is bad because children may find them. this raises a question: why are you leaving children on the internet unsupervised? you won’t leave children at, say, a playground without adult supervision --- because you don’t know, the kids might hurt themselves or the kids might hurt other kids or other people might hurt the kids. the world is a bad place, this is a sad truth. but don’t assume that just because your kids are sitting on your living room browsing the internet they won’t exposed to bad things online. as parents, you have responsibility to protect them.
people said that putting bad content on the internet is bad because it might trigger someone. again, this assumes that people are not capable of self-censorship. if you are triggered by something, then don’t look at it. don’t look for it, don’t search it up. use blacklist, use filtering tools. in extreme, go offline. if people can’t self-censor their own internet experience and end up hurting themselves --- or worse, actively finding things that are triggering to them --- that’s self-harm and the responsibility shouldn’t be on whoever posted the bad contents.
because the definition of ‘bad’ isn’t as solid as some people might think.
all murder is bad. this we all agree. murdering people is punishable by law. you can get prosecuted and condemned by society. then what about murder of fictional character? is it bad? yes? no? if you answer no, then not all murder is bad. is a murder story bad, then? is it allowed on the internet?
being LGBT is punishable by law, in some countries. you can get prosecuted and condemned by society. this is a fact. then all LGBT content is bad? what do you mean it’s not bad? it is, in my country. then i should, by rights, censor all LGBT contents because it’s bad and i say so. /sarcasm
tl;dr: censorship is NEVER the good solution. stop demanding censorship and start learning about self-censorship.

“mmm, how come your fur is softer than mine”, kolivan hummed, burying their face against sendak’s neck. “so unfair.”
FIRE roared viciously in the chaos he had caused , flames easily four to five feet tall , higher as they climbed the length of the walls . his target lay limp at his feet ; blood pooling beneath the cadaver , around antok’s soles , and the weapon they’d failed to subdue him with .
this ship’s commander was now dead .
what made him PAUSE after the assassination— the flicker of very distant memories . he’d known this man , once . had shared the pleasure of enslaving a planet with this man .

it felt as if kolivan was intruding something that wasn’t meant for their eye, but their question died at the back of their tongue --- secrecy and trust, and kolivan was certainly more than trusted antok to tell them if it was something they needed to know.
the mission was a success; the commander was dead and the datapod full of intel secure at their belt pouch. the alarm had been disabled, and with all the ship’s crew dead and the system destroyed, it would meet its demise in a bright violent explosion.

i hate when people compare their ship to zargar.

see, since zargar is confirmed canon in s3 (though some may argue that it’s not, they’re dumb and pretty sure they’re watching a different show) a lot of people are drawing parallels of their fave ship to zargar to prove that their ship is going to be canon. sometimes said parallels… require a lot of mental gymnastic that is honestly exhausting.
let me tell you a lil secret.

i’ve seen people saying that zargar is basically dark shidge / shallura / kallura / sheith / klance (what?) in zaggar / zargar tag and honestly it pisses me off so much. zargar is already an unpopular ship. we don’t have many shippers or content creators.
i can say this with confidence because i hosted A LOT of galra events and participated in some others. galra gift swaps, galra big bang, galra-themed weeks, galra themed zines. each event would be lucky to have more than THREE zargar content.
i’m currently hosting a zargar zine.
i was aiming to have 25 artists and 20 writers. you know how many that i’ll end up with? 10 artists and 6 writers. i know only 50% of them actually have created zargar content. there are some who are not applying because real life sucks ass, but still.
you see how little content we already have?
and people are clogging the tag with these posts comparing their ship w/ zargar. i HATE it, i always block whoever made it, and i hope people will just fuckin stop.

zarkon is a bad guy, yeah. he’s a tyrant, but he is NOT a sexist douche guy. i mean, are you kidding me? he has women in his fleet and he treats them the same way as he treats his other commanders. his female commanders have the same chance of being an emperor as much as their male counterparts. his trusted advisor is a woman!
he has like 178583 legitimate reasons for you to hate him, but being sexist is not one of them.

based on what we know from s5 that you don’t have to be a direct descendant of zarkon to take the throne, kolivan could’ve attended kral zera in a disguise and take over in the middle of the chaos. so i REALLY hope this fanon will die in a fuckin ditch.
