Me again, evil anon this time to talk about your persecutor post.
Speaking as someone who is in a relationship with a system (which DOES include the persecutors, i made it very clear they are deserving of my love an affection as well) it is actually rediculus how many people treat persecutors as unchanging monsters, and then become shocked when they start to ACTUALLY ACT LIKE A MONSTER!
seeing how it works from the outside, knowing that alters are made from what the brain thinks it needs, it is now very telling of someone's situation when they develop a persecutor. it isn't the persecutor's fault for being created and reacting out. persecutors are trying to do their jobs, and yes absolutely some are just dicks, but that isn't special to persecutors. some people are JUST assholes and it's not fair to assume someone is evil just because of the role they were given. kind of like how i've seen many littles talking about how much they hate the infantilization of littles, because a lot of littles STILL have the life experience of the body's age.
Hollywood also does NOT help with this because almost every depiction of systems in shows or movies have "evil" alters as a main plotline and it's so fucking icky like stop.
yeah, in our case! kuromi [former host] has been labelled as a persecutor as one of her roles. due to constant trauma and stress, she got worse. after a while, she did end up having to move on and shuffle to a different space in the system after some things had happened (if you know, you know). if she had the option to actually recover mentally, she would've been better off than what she is now. a lot of alters in the system are also responsible for not aiding her as much as they could've, though there were a select few who were close with her. some of them still are, but due to the fact she pushed people away again shows us she doesn't really want to improve right now. this doesn't make her wrong for wanting to step away though?
she's been labelled a bit "problematic", though, due to her destructive behaviorisms. she would go back and forth with friends and her mental illness to the point she had convinced herself that everyone hated her secretly. the paranoia was unreal. again; this doesn't necessarily mean she is or isn't problematic, she has problems, sure... but that doesn't entirely define her or her role in the system. she's just going through something and we all collectively hope she can settle down and feel safe enough with people again, soon.
typically, persecutors split or form when you're being pushed to the brink and need someone who's ready to stand up for your beliefs when even you - yourself - won't. they're there to make sure nobody takes advantage of the system, even if their methods aren't the best. sometimes though, this isn't the direct reason! maybe you feel like your boundaries are being pushed by a friend / person your system knows, maybe you need someone who just is a bit more harsh than usual. whatever the case, these are still people.
even though i've only spoken about persecutors, i'm not really able to speak on behalf of avengers or revengers since we have limited knowledge on them as a whole. personally? our system doesn't have any or at the very least we haven't pinpointed who would be what fully, still. but yeah! besides all that, i think it's also important to say that littles aren't just children. they're that childish wonder and whimsy (easily summarized) that you still want or need to have in your life. even with all the constant stress, they do kind of help A LOT.
last one to write down is the stuff about hollywood... yeah, the whole industry is a cesspool echo chamber of misinformation. if anyone that comes across this blog goes to movies for advice? don't listen to it. it's safer to go around asking trusted systems you know about their experience, the knowledge they have, etc. than to listen to an actor parroting what their director told them to say over a script.
thanks for the input on the post though, greatly appreciated!
