Hi, I’m Meka - your resident lore nerd, questionably present raid instructor, and terminal altaholic! I was using the url @portalentre for the last...literally forever, but I’m actually more of a ranger main than a mesmer one so I felt it was time for a change! Expect mostly reblogs with a lot of tag chatter, mixed with a tiny smidge of Original Content™ every so often (usually doodles or writing). Likes/replies/etc will come from my main blog, @mekamaybe!
In January 2023 I started hosting community art parties with my guild, Verdant Shield [VS] on the first Saturday of every month! Check the #VSArtParty tag for what people have been creating, and look over here for my own announcement posts about past/upcoming parties!
Happy June and happy Pride, everyone! If there's any month where I actually make my announcement post on time, this is the one to do it - next Saturday (June 6th) will be the first Saturday of a new month, which means it's time for another art party hosted by my guild, [VS] Verdant Shield!
For those not familiar, art parties are a concept carried over from Final Fantasy XIV: in-game get-togethers for artists of all kinds to hang out, chat, and create together! For GW2 parties there’s more of an emphasis on hanging out and gathering references during the party itself, and then in the days/weeks following to work on your creations at your own pace and then post to the shared art party tag. We’ve used the same one (#VSArtParty) since the very beginning so you can go allll the way back and explore what people have made! The most important thing to keep in mind though is this: the ‘goal’ of an art party isn’t to be drawn, but to draw others, and share with the community!
Time and /squadjoin information is below the cut, but will also be posted again on the day of the party as squads go up!
Location Information:
I've decided to make the Lion's Arch Gate in Gendarran Fields the Official June/Pride Party Location™, since it's a spot that Tyria Pride marchers have passed through every year, and will pass through again later this month during the event! It's super easy to get to via either the literally-right-there Cornucopian Fields Waypoint, or by walking north out of Lion's Arch (Trader's Forum Waypoint would be closest)!
Time & Squad Details:
As always, there’ll be two parties - the first one on EU servers and the second on NA ones - with an hour break in between!
The EU server party will begin at 9pm Central European Summer Time (aka 3pm Eastern Daylight Time or 5 hours before in-game reset). I’ll be hosting this one on my EU alt account, so please either /whisper or /squadjoin Paranomalous Plexxi for a taxi invite if you don’t end up on the right map!
The NA server party will begin 1 hour after the EU party’s official end, at 7pm Eastern Daylight Time (aka 1am Central European Summer Time or 1 hour before in-game reset). I’ll be on my main account for this one, so please /whisper or /squadjoin Kirslyn for a taxi invite if you don’t see my customary white cat tag hanging around on your map!
Closing Words:
You of course aren't obligated to change up your outfit for the festivities, but feel free to do so (or bring any of those Pride-themed cryptids I've seen lurking out there) if you feel like it! At the end of the day these events are for all of you guys, and I really do enjoy hosting them even if I've been on the quiet side lately! Have fun out there, and I'll see you soon! ♥

Hey not making an Official Post™ about it yet just yelling into the void, but man any NA peeps out there looking for a raid group? Everyone in my usual circle keeps tapping each other for stuff so if we're all running at once (on say, for example, Monday reset nights) we just kinda....don't have enough for each individual group? [VS]'s static had enough for a good while but half the crew is hopping back to FFXIV for the new Ultimate so I'm down to like.....4 solid people and a handful of flexes? It's rough out there man send help 😩
Update to this I've given up on Mondays and shifted our day to Thursday instead. Expect some kind of Official Recruitment Post™ about this shortly? Or like if you're on NA and free starting an hour before reset on Thursday nights let me know? Maybe?? 👀

🌈What is Tyria Pride?
Tyria Pride is a two-day in-game pride march from one corner of (core) Tyria to the other to show support both LGBTQ players and devs, and a fundraiser for Rainbow Railroad, a non-profit organisation which helps queer people escape state-sponsored persecution and violence around the world.
It's tons of fun every year, a ton of streamers join in so there are many ways to follow along even if you're not in game, music guilds hold concerts, and we have some pretty legendary giveaways! It's always blast!

These are the sketches I did for the art party this month! I'm still challenging myself with drawing charr characters (they r so hard but so rewarding tbh) and drawing things I normally don't draw a lot of, like more complicated tattoos (which I am still improving at XD)
I'm also practicing more traditional art, so today's sketches were done in pencil!
