So sleepy
I am exhausted between working full time plus overtime and being a mom. How do full time moms make time to work out everyday and not feel guilty for taking time away from their kids? I am struggling.

President's Fitness Test
Has anyone done the President's Fitness Test?
https://www.adultfitnesstest.org/adultFitnessTestLanding.php
I'm going to take it on Sunday and use it to gauge my fitness level.
Get fit or die trying.
Dietbet: I finally bit the bullet and joined a dietbet with some of my mommy friends. That means I'm currently running a diet competition that ends in January and I'm doing a short term diet bet for 4 weeks too. Obvs, I'm putting my money where my fat is.
Vivofit: About 10 days into getting my Vivofit, it fell off my wrist from a clasp failure. I noticed within 15 minutes of it falling off but wasn't able to find it again. I contacted Garmin about the issue and they sent me a replacement and recently sent out to all Vivofit users a clasp band to prevent things like that from happening again.
That being said, I went a week or so without the Vivofit and it made me realize how much it really motivates me to keep on track!
Food Prepping: This week I will be attempting to avoid all restaurants! By packing my lunch and cooking at home, I think it'll make it much easier to meet my fitness goals.
I'm planning on making collard greens with red beans and brown rice, Chinese sausage with bok choy and brown rice, lentil soup, Korean cold noodle soup.
I am also going to purge my fridge because a clean fridge always makes me more amenable to cooking and eating at home.
Workout Prepping: My laundry is a mess so I'm going to fold all my laundry and pre-bag my workout clothes so I can make sure I hit the gym or the park as much as possible this week.
Week 1 with Vivofit
So here I am, walking in place because my bracelet is telling I've been sitting on my butt for too long. I wonder what other jewelry I can get to nag me. A ring that reminds me I have dirty dishes in the sink? A necklace that reminds me it's time to take my dog to the groomer....
Actually, I've been so busy the past couple of days, truth is I've been ignoring the warnings and just going to bed with a feeling of guilt for not hitting my step goals. I do have to acknowledge that I am back on the wagon much faster than usual with it on my wrist though. So that's a good thing.
So far, the downsides to the vivofit have been not having a light and not having a vibrating or beeping warning when I've been sitting too long. Of course, those things simply aren't possible with a 1 year no-charge/no-battery replacement life. Because if I had to regularly take this off to charge it or get a new battery, I would just forget about it instead of it being a good reminder for me. In other fitness news, I am running a diet bet with a bunch of my mommy friends. My goal is to lose 15 lbs by the middle of January, or in a perfect world, more of my body weight by percentage than all the other mommies in the challenge!
Reblog if you are a fitblr who has had to start their journey over more than once
I want to show people who are new to this that it is okay to fail and that doesn’t define you.
Again and again.
Day 4 using vivofit and I did over 20k steps! This fitness tracker thing is so motivating.
Day 1 with Vivofit
Yesterday, I received a Vivofit as an early birthday present. It's Garmin's version of a fitness tracker that doesn't need to be recharged or have batteries replaced for a whole year! Also, it is waterproof so it can be worn swimming, has a heart rate strap and integrates myfitnesspal as its caloric intake input method.
I found myself more motivated to do active things. Like take my son to the park. And not veg out on the couch. The vivofit also got me back into tracking my calories, which showed me I have been eating a shocking amount of calories.
And it showed me how often I'm waking up at night due to cosleeping with a night nursing baby. Though it doesn't have strong sleep metrics, it does a decent job of night movement tracking.
Have I been away from fitness too long...
Because turkey bacon makes me irrationally sad.
