Alycia Debnam-Carey attends Dion Lee Front Row September 2016 during New York Fashion Week
Cliffās Edge | Astrid/Leah
āMm,ā she swallowed her food before replying.Ā āI grew up with a couple of the newer boys on the team. I remember playing rugby with them when I was younger until my mom put a firm stop to that.ā Astrid laughed with a roll of her eyes.Ā āI told her rugby was a ruffian sport played by gentlemen, but she was having none of it. Football on the girlās high school team was more acceptable to her.ā
She pulled off of one the cheesiest fries ever, licking the sour cream off of her fingers.Ā āSo what is your thing? Always wanted to be a doctor?ā
āOh boy,ā Leah laughed.Ā āThat really sounds like something.ā
āMhm,ā she nodded, swallowing the fry sheād just put in her mouth.Ā āWell -- not always. Wanted to be an astronaut ages three to six.ā
āThatās what I wanted tā hear.ā
āIām not surprised.ā

āOnly with my food.ā She joked, pretending to load up her shrimp cannon. Despite her words, Astrid politely requested a knife from their server to divide the burger in two and an additional plate, sliding over Leahās half to her on its own plate.Ā
āI watch the League religiouslyālove the Waverly Wanderers too, by the wayāand I was on a school team for a stretch.ā
When Astrid finally took a bite of her burger, she closed her eyes and let out an obscenely satisfied moan. āOh my god, I donāt know why I wait so long to come here.ā
Leah had been picking at the loaded fries with her fork whilst listening to Astrid talk, trying to not let out an outward moan of appreciation on her first bite.Ā āThatās cool -- sports not really my thing, so I admire anyone who can play -- anything, really,ā she laughed as she took her half of the burger.Ā āDo you know anyone who plays on the team?ā
āRight? Mean -- I probably eat here more than one person should, but itās still not enough.ā
āI canāt wait for it tāopen. Itās gonna be so exciting to finally have everythinā together.ā
āYouāre gonna have to stay anā have treats on me soon.ā
āI can imagine.ā
āAbsolutely."
Cliffās Edge | Astrid/Leah
āNot a clue!ā Astrid chirped cheerfully, swirling around the ice in her lemonade.Ā āI donāt come out here as often as Iād like.ā She paused, looking thoughtful.Ā āActually, I think I was unwittingly volunteered into coaching the primary schoolās football team this weekend. One of the parents who usually does it is out sick.āĀ
āWell you should. Itās one of my favourite parts of town,ā Leah replied with an amused expression. It was then that the waitress returned with their food, placing the burgers and fries down in front of the two girls.Ā āDo you play?ā
Exit, Pursued by a Bear
āMy mother grew up in Cork. When I told her I wanted to go somewhere new, she suggested Waverly.ā
āMust be quite a change.ā
āChocolate is real food!ā Faye insisted.Ā āAnd anyway. If we order like, a salad or something, that counteracts the unhealthiness of the hot chocolate. Trust me. Itās science.ā
āI think youāre forgetting youāre talking to an almost-doctor.ā
āSo this is where Iām thinkinā weāre gonna have a little seating area or somethinā like that. Over there is going to be the counter, obviously, itās already set up and stuff. I picked out the white tile and the grey cabinets because I think they go nicely with the rest of the bakeryās light blue color.ā
āOh Ef, itās looking so nice in here.ā
āSāgoing to be so good when it opens.ā
I think the toughest thing for me to figure out, as an actor, was how to translate all those layers that are in there and that history that the writers have done such a great job at forming.
āSorry, sorry. Iām excited for you, anā I clearly canāt contain it.ā
āWell you know youāll be the first to hear if anything comes of it.ā
Iām mostly dependent on the human I made. Freddie cares for him when Iām not around. Plus, heās cute and smells nice.
Gross.
āDonāt be nervous. Or.. try not tā be.ā
āCould you stop.ā
āI think thatās perfect. Youāll look gorgeous. You always look gorgeous, oā course, but you know what I mean.ā
āWell --ā
āWeāll see.ā
Then how will I know what to buy them? Plus, sometimes I get lonely and Iād miss them. Itās weird when people Facetime people walkināĀ āround the shops.
You two are so dependent. I donāt know whether itās cute or not.
