Rocky and Adrian decide to renew their vows after Rocky returns to Erid so at the ceremony there's the beautiful spouse, the other beautiful spouse, their friends and family, and a leaky alien who is actively dying and leaks even more during the ceremony because apparently his species does that when they're emotional.

i can't stop thinking about this part from the eridian lore bible

the biodome team watching grace get up in the middle of the night and easily navigate his hut without turning any lights on:

rocky always yells “enrichment for grace! enrichment for grace!” when he has a new invention to make the humans time more interesting on erid. grace, while appreciative, replies ‘I know I’m in a zoo enclosure but could we maybe not call it that? I feel like a bear getting thrown a pumpkin covered in peanut butter.’ rocky simply gives him a thumb, not wanting to explain that a significant amount of the population sees grace as the celebrity savior scientist who rocky keeps as a controversially young trophy wife and publicly lavishes in gifts

You know that period of development where toddlers know words but aren’t able to pronounce them correctly, so it still sounds like just noises to most people? That’s what Grace sounds like when he attempts to speak Eridian because humans don’t have a body that’s evolved to speak it correctly. Only Rocky and Adrian can understand him, like the toddler’s parents who are able to translate “ajsjdlasjsjhssajjsj-fish!” into “I want some goldfish!”.

They spend a lot of time translating Grace’s “nonsense” into understandable words for the other Eridians on the team in charge of his biodome. To those Eridians, Grace babbles like a pebble and then Rocky or Adrian pipes up with “Grace said it wants to know if we can add another tree to the enclosure.” and the others are half-convinced they are being pranked. Like, surely there is no way Rocky and Adrian understood THAT? But, the human nods along to their explanation happily, so that must be what it meant?
