Are You Okay?

When I told my sister that I loved her She said ‘Are you okay?’ When I asked my mother ‘Am I a bother?’  She said ‘What are you trying to say?’  ‘Are you okay?’

I’ve been feeling like I’ve been a waste of space  And all it takes to knock me down is not on you  I’ve been feeling like it’s something I can’t say  Sometimes it fades and comes back  By now it’s nothing new 

My brother says it nicely so I’m not feisty  He says ‘Are you okay?’  My dad doesn’t define me or tries to fight me  He says ‘Are you okay?’

I’ve been feeling like I can’t just walk away  That I can face this strange persuasion I’m no use  I’ve been feeling like it’s something I can’t change  I try to break the habit or have it be less cruel
