Commissions are open! An art/writing blog where Shimo posts his works! :) Main blogs: @thecalmnessandthestorms (follows from), @loud-shimo-screes, @wayfinderlegacy, and @shimoshenanigans. (Icon credit goes to @shoahma, header image credit to @mrako-sobako)
...Okay, so I fell down a rabbit hole and made a Warhammer 40k OC and have been debating posting him all week because my brin was like: "Oh nooo... He's a little cringey if I start posting more, and I'm actually really self-conciou and shy about iiiiiiiit!!!"
BUT I WORKED UP THE NERVE AND POSTED THE REF SHEET! :'D
(There's more but I'll post that later as I sketch and scream more. I'm just letting my brain form this one as it pleases). The only info y'all get for now is via ref sheet and the vague ramblings of a Shimo if you want more you can message me and I'll be embarrassed but will talk! :'D
(And will probs talk more here with encouragement. You can see how embarrassed and shy I am about this one from the rambles. :'))
But yeah. We have with text ref sheet and without text ref sheet. This is my normal version, and I'm playing him Rogue Trader too which I'm MUCH less shy about and will be posting plenty of meme drawings from that playthrough as I make more simplified versions of the characters. (I'm not adding that much detail to silly memes!) Having a lot of fun with both the game and the insane lore rabbit holes I've been going down! :'D
I have... no clue how much notice this is actually gonna get, but also I'm kind curious for data collection. I have a scifi story I'm working on and was wondering which of these sounds interesting for the main character's species? Struggling to decide so with zero context pick whichever sounds neat to you. (I based a lot of them off Earth creatures because its a good baseline but also they aren't straight up one to one in terms of things. You only get a LITTLE bit of lore but if asked about any of them I'll elaborate. :'D)
Plant people born from the seed of ancestral trees
My new Star Wars 5e character I just started playing! ...I love him and the party dympnamic we have going so far sooooo much already! I'll put his full bio under a read more because its freaking LONG! :'D
Expect to see a bunch of him for a while though! Him and my other Sith boy I get to play! Other one is more of a disaster, however.
**Character Name (and pronouns):** Lord Taral (Shaadi) (He/Him)
**Species:** Sith Pureblood
**Class:** Sentinel
**Age, Appearance:** 28 years old. Red skin, ridges on the face and arms with spikes and tendrils on the chin. He has three gold piercings above his left eye, a triangular earring dangling from the left ear, and two clasps on the longest tendrils with tiny Kittât script etched into the metal. Ears are slightly pointed with a small spikey bit. Hair is black in color, long, and tied back with a deep crimson ribbon. Eyes are a slightly golden yellow in color that almost seem to glow. Has light armor for clothes, a double-bladed lightsaber, and a medallion signifying the Sphere he works for.
**Affiliations:** Darth Igneus (Sith Master), His ragtag group of allies from Korriban, The Sphere of Expansion and Diplomacy.
**Last Known Location:** Boarding a shuttle from Dromund Kaas to the Unknown Regions.
**Immediate Goals:** Not frick up the task he was given frankly.
**Dream Goals:** Honestly, same as the short term alongside: the possibility of being done with that diplomatic mission eventually and making it back to work on… other things (still will not be half-assing said mission), and possibly finding out if Luteus may still be alive or not.
**Personality:** Oddly… caring? Towards allies and companions who have earned his respect or trust? Caring is likely the wrong word, but he looks out for his own. Fairly good at “playing nice” with others, which is what earned him a spot in the Sphere of Expansion and Diplomacy. Level headed most of the time, but doesn't tolerate mocking fools and anyone that brings his shortcomings to the forefront. Hardworking and eager to please superiors and task givers, but not afraid to challenge or go against them should he believe they're being stupid. Respect is earned based on a person's strength. It can be mental, physical, or emotional, but has to be proven in some way. Has little patience for cowardice and weakness. Has little to no problem with aliens because of this. Any nastiness is based on the respect earned system versus species (still looks down on non-Force users to a degree). Still has little to no problems with how the Empire functions for the most part, and still is as prideful as most Sith tend to be. However, he can mask any of those feelings for the sake of diplomacy as he was taught to. Any true loyalty he shows is a high honor and not given out lightly.
**Backstory:** Lord Taral (Shaadi) was born to the Dwasia family on Ziost, known for producing some of the most talented sorcerers in the Empire. He was seen as a great disappointment by most of them due to his distinct lack of talent in that field. He did, however, have good lightsaber combat skill, alongside that of working well with others, and even those who were neither Pureblood Sith or human. The little group of allies he had on Korriban being made up of himself, twin Twi'leks (Lanar'ri and Rhaao), a Miraluka (Vespera Aande), and a Chiss (Ivalu'te'usnus (Luteus) who he loved most of all and fell out of contact with sometime after breaking off their relationship). When they were finished on Korriban, they all planned to leave together, though Shaadi stayed a little longer for something important. His family, before leaving Korriban, always went to the ancestral tomb and made a pact with one of the ghosts. He meditated there for three days. None came. His allies had in fact risked getting in trouble by waiting for him, yet this still struck him hard. He was removed from the Dwasia family after that. Many saw the rejection of one of their own, something that had never happened before, alongside the lack of sorcery talent as an ill omen. And one not to be ignored.
However, Shaadi did flourish under the teachings of Darth Igneus, the Sith who chose him to be her apprentice. She saw his talents as useful and to be encouraged, as well as rewarding loyalty and molding him into a possibly useful tool. Often she was quite pleased with his progress, even if he could be a disappointment still on occasion (i.e. the kyber bleeding incident). There were no wrong answers in her eyes, only bad or foolish ones. Those were met with rather harsh punishments, whereas good and thoughtful answers to things were met with praise. The most foolish of these things was telling her she would be better off with a proper sorcerer as an apprentice. A statement made only once. Igenus often expressed displeasure with the Sith leadership due to all of her work as a diplomat often going to waste. Something Shaadi often agreed with much to her own amusement. What was the point of them actually doing these things if they were just going to be shattered on some fool's whim? The master-apprentice pair developed an odd level of trust amongst each other for Sith, and Shaadi proved himself worthy in Igneus’ eyes in his final trial as an apprentice. When faced with “assassins” he chose to defend the Darth rather than let her die.
This act led to her petitioning for him to be made a Lord, an act which would lead them both to current events. The head of the sphere didn't like a Darth they knew was vying for power to have that strong and loyal of an ally. So he was picked as one that would be sent as a representative to negotiate a trade agreement with an Unknown Regions backwater - Taranis 3 on behalf of the Empire. While it was claimed to be on the grounds of his skill, both the newly named Lord Taral and Darth Igneus knew precisely the reasoning, though neither dared to argue it.
Anyone have any good art refs for drawing saberstaff use? They don't really translate into any real world weapons well so I'm having hell's own time finding things.
...And I really wanna draw a couple of my derps. :')
There's an art really similar to this one you can find on this blog. This is a redraw of that! I wanted to do something that better fit these two's personalities. Nesha's confident serenity, and Saris' bright gremlin energy. The original had them looking waaaay too somber.
The background details are how they see each other in their Force Bond. Saris views Nesha like a river. Calm, but full of rapids and varying strong currents. Much like her calm but fierce at times nature. Nesha views Saris like a storm. Wild and unpredictable but witha gentle center should you manage to find the eye.
Nesha and Saris aremy main Consular and Inquisitor in SWTOR, and I kinda want to do more mirror class images like this, but the rest may take longer as since noneof the others have connections the background details need to be worked out. (Also working on holiday gift art for people and stuff for my next SW5e vharacter so that takes priority. :'))
...Guess who fell hard down the Final Fantasy XV rabbit hole and redrew his old OC from AGES ago?
Yeah. That would be me. :')
Honestly? Really quite happy with this re-design and having fun with writing and drawing him again, been great! Game's been fun to revisit too! Its been like... 6? 7? years since I last played it? A long while!
Expect to see Alastor here pop up every now and then!
Finsihed this one long after the D&D campaign ended of Tiny Smol Navigator Saris! ...I had a headcanon in his backstory that if he wasn't bothering the bridge crew, Admiral Orr'elis would let him do his lessons and reading on the bridge wherever he chose to sit. Usually by Orr'elis' chair. :)
I'm VERY behind on sharing my AMVs here!
I heard this song on spotify randomly, though, and it fit him so perfectly well I couldn't resist throwing this thing together!
As always with SWTOR characters like Sorrel here you can see fanfics, incorrect quotes, screenshots and other media under the tag "Ramos'orr'elis" on @wayfinderlegacy and well, here actually! :'D
Song used is When the Darkness Comes by Shelby Merry.
Midwan- God of Power (Sith word for Power, Wookiepedia)
Dro shâsot diâ asimi tsariz hi kata diâ dwasi tuti dotachijas tyûk.
(Through struggle and storm may thy heart and mind be granted strength.)
Shâsot, Midwan, Asha, and Ridasatsa began their lives as ordinary Tsis, but ended up being elevated as gods in death for being Tsis who exemplified passion, power, victory, and freedom respectively. Midwan demonstrated strength not only as a talented sorcerer, but a competent leader. Guiding the people with confident and strong words with nary a flinch or step back.
Followers of Midwan tend to believe that true power isn't physical, but in the mind. They strive to be great leaders and careful thinkers, believing knowledge to be the purest form of power in all things. Many of their followers are Sorcerers, but Warriors with more of a focus on strategy and not just pure battle prowess tend to look to Midwan as well.
(The Kittât script on the scroll doesn’t match the phrase there because I messed that all up. Will be making a post with corrected script for everyone at some point!)
Shâsot- God of Passion (Sith word for Passion, Wookiepedia)
“Titsû hi anmudzuna warsi nurlêukadasi diâ hi shâsot warsi lêirzêa ra.”
(Let thy spirit remain unshackled and thy passion remain unchanged.)
Shâsot, Midwan, Asha, and Ridasatsa began their lives as ordinary Tsis, but ended up being elevated as gods in death for being Tsis who exemplified passion, power, victory, and freedom respectively. Shâsot was a passionate soul, unafraid to speak their mind in life, and would not back down nor tolerate fools who followed blindly lightly.
Followes of Shâsot follow their passions without denial and encourage others to do the same. They don't tolorate anyone who tries to trample theirs or another's passions unless those passions may defy tradition too greatly.
(The Kittât script on the giant axe doesn't match the phrase there because I messed that all up. Will be making a post with corrected script for everyone at some point!)
OKAY SO THE SITH GODS SLOWED DOWN AGAIN HALF BECAUSE OF LIFE STUFF AND HALF BECAUSE APPARENTLY PAST SHIMO DIDN'T WANT TO WORK ON MIDWAN'S TINY DETAILS AND LEFT THAT FOR PRESENT SHIMO WHO NOW HAS THE TIME AND ENERGY FOR SHIT!!
...I'm gonna build a time machine and beat up past Shimo. Past Shimo screws over present Shimo too often. :')
