to be clear, anger about the british taking prized jewels from punjab and then refusing to give them back all these years later isn’t JUST about the damn jewels.
egyptian activists lobbying for ancient artifacts to be returned to egypt from france and all other stretches of the world isn’t just about the sentiment.
those things were taken forcibly from a people in a dehumanizing way, and a refusal to return them reinforces the idea that those who colonized still hold some form of power over those who they colonized. they are pieces of history that were taken with little to no regard of the people whose history they represented

Wait... you actually think Michael Jackson is innocent? Have you watched Leaving Neverland - do you mean to say that you think Wade Robson and James Safechuck are lying about having been molested by Micheal Jackson?
I haven’t seen it, no, but I already know a lot about Robson and Safechuck which makes me skeptical about their claims. Like how they swore under oath he didn’t molest them and defended him in his trial as adults. Like how Robson tried to sell a book before being turned down and instead launched a creditor claim against Jackson’s state for millions. Like how they waited until Jackson passed away because the law doesn’t protect the deceased meaning they can say whatever they wish without fear of legal repercussions. Like how Safechuck claimed he only realised he was abused after Robson filed a multi-million dollar lawsuit. Like how they both used the same lawyer and filed identical suits. Like how Robson has been caught lying repeatedly during these lawsuits and concealing evidence, with the judge stating “no rational fact-finder could possibly believe Robson’s sworn statement.” Like how Safechuck provided dates he was molested that Jackson wasn’t even in the country. Like how the director of Leaving Neverland admitted that he chose not to interview anybody who could discredit their claims nor did he investigate the claims. Like how the documentary implied Brett Barnes was also molested yet Barnes vehemently denies this and has threatened legal action against the documentary. Like how a number of child actors he was friends with and alone with on numerous occasions - for example Macaulay Culkin and Corey Feldman - have vehemently defended him.
Jackson was investigated by the FBI and CPS over the course of ten years. They found no evidence of wrongdoing and the files are public:
