the way so many people, women especially, in our society have had their brains so fucked to the point where they cant or wont eat when eating is literally like. the most important thing in life. our entire lives revolve around eating. food is literally life. i truly think having an eating disorder is possibly the most disordered state your brain can get to. everyone has the potential to, and will to some degree, experience anxiety or depression or dissociation or violent tendencies or even delusions and hallucinations. but theres something so genuinely broken about an animals brain stopping it from being able to eat. the fact that the human psyche has so much power over biology and instinct is scary…and things like anorexia are seen as just teenage girls being dramatic or whatever and its literally like. the most deadly mental illness there is. its not given the seriousness it deserves because its associated with women, especially young women. but its so complex and serious. its insane to really think abt.
