#cw animal death in tags#prev i was a temp research assistant at a mammal morphology lab that was partnered with that kind of rescue#so when their big kitties died of old age or disease we performed dissection/necropsy to examine how unethical treatment in captivity#alters bone and muscle anatomy in large carnivores#i dissected a few tigers in my time there and u could clearly see issues like dental and bone disease from their early lives But#u could also see how big and muscular they were and how thick and glossy their fur was from such attentive and loving care at the rescue:-)#anyways. also many thoughts as someone who currently assists at a more standard wildlife refuge#but perhaps to articulate when i can think better📝
