“ I do not struggle in your web, because it was my aim to get caught. But daddy long legs, I feel that I’m finally growing weary of waiting to be consumed by you. “
– Fiona Apple “ The First Taste”
Silently, a hand came up to cup her chin in a delicate fashion, yet the touch was rough, as the former White King looked down at her, tilting his head to one side. Beautiful she was, alluring whenever she moved and spoke. His blackened heart, however, lacked the emotion to let her words get in but let her believe it. She was nothing but a tool for his plan, after all. ‘ Be more patient, love. ’ Fingers then move along her jawline down to her shoulder.

Run away like you’ve always run all your life. You don’t think I’ll send men to find you?

She shouldn’t shy away from allegiances , a sole ruler she could use as many in her corner as she could possibly manage. When this man came to her she was intrigued to listen. Maybe it was due to his charisma and charm, but she ushered him to speak freely. “ Please, tell me more. “
“Imagine the possibilities, your Majesty. More control, more power. ” The thought of such proposal seemed madness. The tone in his voice, that of a truthful ruler, seemed promising, however. “There’s just one catch,” he continued on, “As you know, I’ve passed on my crown to my grandchild, the White Queen, whose idealism of ruling is not quiet appropriate. She doesn’t fit as I hoped.” He paused and walked toward her, large hands embrace her slender ones. “Unlike you.”
There was a moment in my life, I had the chance for something different. [x]

Well this was an interesting turn of events and yet, not unexpected. Mick knew it would only be a matter of time before he showed up, after all a sire usually did; no matter how neglected their charge was. “No, you don’t. So, you’re the grandfather huh?” Oh yeah he knew exactly who this guy was and Cassandra’s detail of him was accurate right down to the snarl. Mick made no effort to move as he glanced to the older Vampire “I know exactly what you are. An irresponsible Vampire thinking only with his teeth. Do you realize what you’ve done to that poor girl? How scared and confused she is?” Mick was passionate about this because he himself had gone through the same ordeal, albeit slightly by his own choice when he fled the woman he thought he knew; his wife. Still there was no exception for being turned against one’s own will. “That’s great. You don’t think I’m stupid enough to bring her here do you?”
“No,” Francis chuckled mockingly but abruptly stopped and within a moment he now was standing right in front of Mick, treating not only his personal space but directly him whilst Francis stared him down. “No, actually I think you’re smart enough to tell me where she is before I separate your head from your shoulders.” He very well knew what he’d done, but he didn’t listen to anybody who tried to lecture him about it. He didn’t believe that he had done her wrong with taking away her mortality, though, without doubt, he more likely had done it for himself. She never would have to die, he never would lose her. It was a pathetic thought. He of all should have known it better, after all he, too, hadn’t turned willingly but by chance.

“Do I look like someone who just turns around and leaves?” The vampire snarled, staring at the other. Because of what Francis had seen through the decades, what he had been through himself turned him into the being he was today. A goodly apple rotten at the heart; there had been a time where he deeply loved, cared and this ended when his wife was slaughtered by vampires while he was left to die, suffocating on his own blood. But he didn’t die, he somehow survived, only to be cursed to watch his daughter grow and die when she was blessed with a child of her own. This child, his grandchild, was all he had left. With turning her and locking her away, he thought to protect her from any arm and to assure he would never be alone. Anyone who thought differently he would decapitate. “You know I’m a vampire like you are. You know I can smell her.”

Of all the people in all the world. Damon did not expect to ever see him again either. Especially not stalking through the halls of the Salvatore Boarding Home. Yet, there he was, plain as day and not looking like he had aged a day since the last time Damon had seen him. Then again, that was the only thing to be expected in his encounter. Damon froze as he stood at the end of the hall, a blood bag hanging from each hand. He’d started taking them to Cassandra more as he attempted to help her cope with her newfound nature. It was safer than bringing her bodies and it helped her to feel less like a monster. Or at least Damon hoped that was the case. The other two beings were ignored as Damon stared Francis down. Damon should have known the minute that Cassandra had opened her mouth and let that accent out as she told her story that Francis was somehow related to the tale. Now Damon realized that Francis was related by something far more than just the tale, he was related by blood. “Get out of my house.”
Where Damon froze, Francis allowed himself to move freely – with such calmness – around the large living room, gazing at the furnishings that certainly suited his taste. Classic, just as his wardrobe. He didn’t like to go with the flow of time, and there it wasn’t surprising that he looked a lot like the last time they had seen each other. And yet much had changed. He wasn’t talking, nor did he respond to Damon’s demand. Only when Francis suited himself on the armchair, he eventually gave some kind of reaction: he smiled, almost gently as he looked from the chandelier back to Damon. “I'm sure you know why I am here. It’s not very difficult for you to put one and one together, as you’re smart. Always has been,...and that is why you bring her to me. Then I will leave.”
