HOPE

        Hope looked at her father , feelings she had shut down a month ago threatening to resurface . Wanting to run to him and hug him . She could do that , but the feelings wouldn’t be there . She knows she loves him . Knows she would do anything for him and with or without her humanity on that still rings true .  “ Dad . “ She stepped closer as she decided to push those feelings down once more . “ I was hoping you’d be back too … “ Hope hugged her father , ,feelings insider fighting to come out but she wouldn’t let them . “–but also I know I would be worried if I had any feelings at the moment . “ Surely enough he would be disappointed in her . “ If you came back that also means the possibility of anyone who wants to kill you … “ She wont let it happen . 

the moment he sees her klaus knows there is something wrong, something missing. he wonders what happened to her in the years he’s been gone and why her humanity is now gone. did she make that choice or was the choice made for her? the hug is nice but it isn’t warm, it cant be and it breaks his heart. “it’s good to see you,” he tells her, even though its not under the best circumstances. when he pushes away he takes a moment to look into her eyes and smiles at her because even though hope had no humanity in her she’s still his daughter and he is happy to see her once again. “look at you, all grown up.” he sighs, his smile fading into a frown. “yes wll, i have never been short of enemies and i don’t expect that to change.” even though he knows she might no feel the same way he does, klaus pulls her back into his arms, holding her tight and close to his chest. “my hope. i’m so sorry”

there is a reason he finds himself in the bayou and that reason has a name: hayley marshall. with the dead coming back to life klaus could not help but wonder if that included her. watching her burst into flames in front of him was an image that remains in his brain and thus he needs to see her. replace the image of her death for something else. to tell her that he’s sorry for not saving her. as he walked around, getting his expensive boots covered in mud, he hears something similar to a scream. running towards the sound he finds the body of a dead girl. by the wounds on her neck it is obvious that she was attacked by a vampire - or something similar.

the bar is empty, except for the few drunk patrons and the band that plays in the far corner. klaus smiles and orders himself another round of bourbon when he sees someone who catches his eye. not wanting to waste the opportunity he takes his glass and walks up to the man he once called friend. does he still? a lot has happened since the last time he saw stefan salvatore, including both of their deaths. yet nothing could prepare klaus to the sight of a human stefan. “well, isn’t this a sight for sore eyes. stefan salvatore, alive, well and very human. honestly, never thought i’d see the day.”

the world is not all that different but klaus himself hasn’t been feeling like himself since he’s been brought back. feels like something had reached inside his head and scrambled everything inside it. the paint from the foyer smelled fresh and the marble from the grand staircase shone as bright as his own Italian shoes as he made his way silently downstairs. despite the smell of the new renovations still hanging in the air he could still sense it as he heads down the little used hallway: the smell of rain-splattered grass and magnolias. just a hint of nutmeg. he sits in the living room with a book, a collection of poems from w. b yeats, when he hears a set of footsteps approaching. when he looks up, he sees his daughter standing there and his heart stops.

The biological child of Esther and the werewolf, Ansel, and the bastard son of Mikael, is klaus Mikaelson. He endured the worst of Mikael's abuse as a child due to his mother's insistence that he be weak and because his interests conflicted with his father's desire to instill strength in his children. The affair was only made public after Klaus' bloodlust activated his werewolf gene, turning him into the very beasts that blighted their existence in the new world, and Esther transformed her kids into immortals at Mikael's request. Dark magic helped Esther control it, but Klaus retaliated and fled. He would be sought after for centuries to come by Mikael. His heightened emotions, the violence he endured, and Mikael's never-ending search for him all contributed to him becoming a violent and nasty man. In addition to searching for a solution to lift the curse on his werewolf side and avoiding Mikael, Klaus spent the centuries savoring the strength he had never experienced before. 

When Klaus discovers there is a fresh Petrova lookalike in town and his curse can be undone once more, he first emerges. Elijah makes a last-minute turn against him after agreeing to assist him, and only relents when he is assured of being reunited with his family. The betrayal further reinforces Klaus' fixation with creating hybrids and his need for intimacy. His family is later reunited.

He departs for New Orleans only to discover that Marcel already has everything he desires after killing his own hybrids and Rebecca destroying what little human blood elena has left. To add to that, the conflict for the French Quarter pitted father against son and brother against brother. Rebekah's final betrayal is revealed to Klaus, who also meets his long-lost older sister, Freya, and laments the passing of Marcel and Camille. However, he rediscovers some of his humanity via optimism. She unites the family, and it is because of her that Elijah and he are both able to find peace in surrender and death years later.

He has no idea how or why he came back, but he is eager to see his loved ones. He wants to ensure that people know that the name "Mikaelson" should be feared. He also wants to try his best to avoid coming across as a ferocious, bloodthirsty monster in Hope's eyes ( which he is, but he would rather not advertise ). He can be seen wandering around NOLA, typically over bourbon and protracted rants on flimsy topics, forming allies or intimidating adversaries (depending on his mood).

I am here for all of the sibling drama ... well, all kinds of chaos tbh.
