❝ hello my hate ; mike & lay
He hadn't noticed before, but after the long absence Lay had taken from this place, the feeling of returning home was even more apparent in his chest and it was strange, considering there was nothing that really tied him to the spaceous flat other than that he happened to have lived there for... how long had it been? It might have been a year already, a year of bantering and annoyance and some more or less moral thoughts involving his godforsaken roommate.Though he was sure at least that the latter wasn't the reason for him to feel this way. It was probably just his attachment to the little furball they had adopted together, nothing else.
Heaving his luggage over the doorstep with but little effort, the young male broke the silence that had hung over the whole space, uncaring about disturbances he could maybe cause-- just like always. The first thing he noticed was that it was way cleaner than it should be, considering the fact that noone should have been home for a whole while. He had been confidently believing that his roommate would not have finished his work so quickly, but it wouldn't be the first time he confidently ran head first into a wall, metaphorically speaking.
Speaking of the devil, Mike was already there and waiting, always seeming one step ahead like usual, mop of crazy black hair now too much resembling Lays own windswept one. He had buried his nose in a book, looking way too peaceful as the sight wasn't really one Lay got to see all too often (which was also, partly at least, his own fault). It was just like he had just been away for a few hours, something had changed but not really, he quickly adapted to being back in the other's presence. Remembered the taller male's habit of wearing those stupid thick-rimmed glasses when he read, even though he didn't need them at all.
Eyebrows raising just slightly, he pushed the straps of his backpack from his shoulders, slowly sliding it from his back, lacking a welcome or anything of the like as he raised his voice, eyes wandering to the animal lying on Mike's chest, breathing slowly as though it was sleeping.
"You know, those don't actually make you look any smarter."
