That’s no space station… It’s a moon!
Today, thanks to NASA, we learned that Mimas, one of Saturn’s moons, bear’s an extraordinary resemblance to the Death Star.
NASA’s Cassini orbiter recently captured the best image we’ve ever seen of Mimas and its gigantic Herschel impact crater, which looks like the Death Star’s iconic Superlaser.
“The Cassini spacecraft captured this image on October 22, 2016 at a distance of 115,000 miles (185,000 km). Each pixel represents 3,300 feet, or one full kilometer. Mimas is just barely 400 km (248 miles) across, and it’s notable in that it’s the smallest body in the solar system to have a rounded shape, the result of its own gravity.”
