I’m not sure if there is a theme this week, but I wanted to submit this anyway. I shot this around 7 in the morning, when the sun filters in through this window in the most delicious way. It wasn’t planned, but I was already half-undressed, and when I saw the shadows on the wall, I eagerly grabbed my camera. I’ve been taking nude self-portraits for a little while, and they usually have a conceptual bend to them, but it’s really nice to also enjoy taking a nude selfie for the sake of being nude. To simply celebrate how shadows fall on my skin, the patterns they make, of being beautifully naked and alive and present in the moment. I was going to post this anonymously, but fuck it. This is my skin. I’m not ashamed to be living in it.
I’m so thrilled that you decided not to post this anonymously because it is a truly fantastic photo and i wanted you, as the artistic talent behind it, to get all the credit it’s due. You’re absolutely right, sometimes you just have to take a naked selfie and appreciate it for what it is. Thank you for sharing the photo with us, i think it is remarkable.
