The Gumberoo is a bear-like creature found in Oregon. The Gumberoo is a bear-like creature that is described as being very fat bear with dark leathery skin, a large grin with many sharp teeth, and a beard and very prominent eyebrows. The Gumberoo was first sighted by the lumberjacks in the 1900′s where they tried to kill it but the Gumberoo’s skin made it unaffected by bullets and arrows. The Gumberoo is said to only come out at night and it has an insatisfiable appetite where it can devour anything that it came across even a whole horse which still wasn’t enough for it. The Gumberoo lives in old hollowed out cedar trees where it only comes out after it is done hibernating.

Fred and Wilma are facing discrimination from the people of Bedrock for their monogamous lifestyle, which goes against the free-for-all fuckfest that is the norm in the prehistoric society. A clear metaphor for same-sex couples.

They go on a getaway trip with a bunch of other married couples. But on the trip, they discover the trip leader, despite preaching acceptance for married couples and being a trailblazer of social reform, has his own prejudices. Specifically against same-sex couples.

In the next two pages, Fred explains why they’re ought to care about more than just themselves when it comes to preaching tolerance and rights.
