Linda and Peisandros follow the advice of a wellmeaning yet not otherwise specified individual and are seeking out a place with less windows.
The decision proves fruitful since they meet someone both click with: Brian Heffner.
The hour is almost past midnight. The café is entirely empty. Well not entirely! One tireless cat still holds out against the impending sleep.
Well, one tireless cat and a tireless queen.
Time flies when you're having fun. A certain barista knows that full well and decides to work overtime to give the two lovers more of that precious time.
Finally, the masses have left. Peace at last! (And a table with two vacant seats for once)
- Peisandros: Hey, we just got an invitation. - Linda: From whom?
- Peisandros: I don't know. The lady just said we "would get to know in the fullness of time". But there will be cake. - Linda: I see what sold it.
- Mortimer: Say, aren't you the woman from the couple who just kissed behind that glass wall? - Linda: Oh, snap!
- Bastet: You may not know me, young man, but I have a husband around your age for whom I am making new friends. I expect you to visit us with your lovely superi- eh, partner. - Peisandros: *surprised* Uh...
- Bastet: There will be cake. - Peisandros: Count me in.
At their return, chaos has spread. The royal cat, Nemenpyle, that would later bring trouble to Peisandros has detected a perturbator. Poor lady!
Meanwhile, Nemenpyle's owner watches the show of the magician who just turned up.
- Bastet: If they can't deal with a cat, it's their problem.
The disadvantage of glass walls: you are always observed.
The advantage of glass walls: you can always observe.
- Bastet: I love love. - Random Raccoon: *growls* - Bastet: There, there, you will find someone as well.
Linda needs some time to process. Fair enough, I guess.
- Peisandros: Oh watcher, was it that terrible? - Linda: No...
- Linda: ...no, I liked it. - Peisandros: *visibly relieved*
A little overwhelmed by all the people in the café, they seek out a quieter spot until some of the visitors have left.
- Peisandros: I... was wondering if... if I could kiss you? - Linda: Go on
Thanks for asking, dude!
- Coffee Connoisseur Lady: ...and on the side, I would like a caramell macchiato with almond milk and hazelnut syrup, but only an eighth of a pump because I'm allergic. - Bastet: I was here first. I hope you get a tickling throat from that eighth pump of hazelnut syrup for cutting in line.
Meanwhile, Thersandros is plagued by an avid admirer of his work as a moderator.
- Thersandros: Seriously, dude, do you know how hard it is to get a good babysitter nowadays? I'm having a date with my wife before we need one. With the utmost politeness, I'd advise you to vacate this chair before she arrives.
Finally, the two lovebirds head to the little café corner just to see that it's... full. Among the visitors, there are also two we are very familiar with but whom Linda and Peisandros don't know yet since, chronologically speaking, it's before the Sakaes' baby party.
Well, time to impress them enough for that sweet, sweet party invitation!
The date goes as planned. In the late afternoon, they take a little break to go outside and look at clouds. You know, greenhouses are all good but nothing like the real thing while lying in the real nature (or rather, on the pavement).
- Linda: ...and this one looks a little like a chinchilla, don't you think?
Peisandros doesn't answer. On his right, he has more beautiful sights to behold than mere clouds.
Linda had come to see if any apartments were available - and she stayed. First, she only stayed for a cup of coffee.
Later, for a date.
She had picked the place herself, a conservatory with integrated café. Peisandros had to admit that while he wouldn't have chosen this spot, it was very delightful.
Peisandros hadn't expected much from the day, least of all a new unannounced client entering his realtor's office - a small office, but the only one in Windenburg.
"Life was wonderful around us, downright magical.”
"It was the most beautiful autumn of my life.
The colors were brighter, the birds’ songs more melodious and the world livelier.”
"It was as if fate had tied our two souls together.
We had found an old home we had never known existed."
