🍪 ─ bake & decorate sugar cookies @legacysouls
𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄 𝐏𝐀𝐒𝐒𝐄𝐒 𝐀𝐋𝐋 too quickly. elio sees it as the faces of his children grow & change with time. each passing day a treasure that he strives to preserve as best as he could. he takes a page from his adoptive parents book, in that he saves everything he could. photos, keepsakes, home movies, & the like. still it never seems like it is enough. he is thankful at the least that between their infernal blood & elio's own vampiric condition his kits would not die before his eyes so long as lucifer blessed them. he had the long stretch of eternity to look forward to with his little family.
moving about the kitchen he had everything set out, all the ingredients for homemade sugar cookies along with homemade icing. as his adoptive mother would have said homemade is best. elio can't help the slight pain within his chest at the thought of his late mother, adelaide. she had passed not to long after his father lorenzo had. the two truly had been too in love with each other to allow even death to keep them apart for long. he missed them, lamented that his kits only had a little time with them before the end. still, he held many cherished memories of them both & he tried his best to focus on those in times like the present.
❝ how is the library treating you piccolo fiore ? ❞ he asked softly, turning to watch as his kit carefully started to decorate the already baked cookies, an adorable look of concentration on their features that reminded him oh so much of basalt. there was hints of elio there as well, the nose for one was near identical to his natural one that he'd changed so many years ago. their kit was a perfect blend of them both, a sight that warmed elio's heart. no matter how old iggy got elio would always consider them to be his little kit, treasuring & loving them without question.
he is relieved that now that iggy was old enough to actually find work within the ministry that the vast majority of problematic clergy members had been removed on way or another. elio & his sister had seen to that. after a much needed break the twins had cleaned house, starting a new chapter for the ministry. he was proud that over the years it had become a safe place for ghouls, a more welcoming place where they were not seen as servants. admittedly there was a spiteful part of him that thrived off of the fact that his biological parents no doubt were turning in their forgotten graves over this notion. ❝ do you want some batter ? i fear i could eat my weight in it. ❞ he laughed, amusement sparkling in his mismatched hues.
