The tie-breaker between the Tampa Bay Rays and the Texas Rangers essentially ended when Sam Fuld stole third in the ninth inning. Relief pitcher Tanner Scheppers’s throwing error allowed Fuld to steal home, giving Tampa Bay a more comfortable three-run cushion Rays ace David Price probably didn’t need as he finished the game.
