There are people out there who hate Faith the vampire slayer can you imagine
I require hotshot loser fictional women...
type who thinks she's the coolest, hottest bitch in the world, sleeps around a lot, selfish asshole, stupid as fuck, never grew past her teens/early twenties so she's deeply immature. pathetic and lonely at heart. and crucially she MUST be a genuine badass also. she sucks but she's the hero and you know she's a loser but you both relate to her and wanna be her... yknow what I mean?
I like many a dude character who fits this type but I don't think I can name any fictional women like this. if anybody has examples please I'm desperate-
actually im not done buffy is transgender for real. she's a girl, but she's something else too that the other girls at school aren't, and she knows that that identity automatically makes her an outsider from all the other girls at school. she likes who she is, but sometimes watching Cordelia, she can't help but long for the ease of being "normal". her friends love and support her, but they aren't like her, and she knows that means there are some parts of her life that they'll just never understand. she wants to be homecoming queen so badly, if only to prove to herself that she can be this other thing and also a regular high school girl at the same time. how she tries to hide her identity from her mother for as long as she can. how when she finally tells joyce, they get in a huge argument because joyce is so afraid of what this means for buffy's safety that she tries to stop her from being herself. the fact that buffy, arguing with her mother about her own identity, says "You think I chose to be like this? Do you have any idea how lonely it is? How dangerous?" The fact that a stranger tells her "But you're just a girl." and she says "That's what I keep saying."
fiction can be really dangerous there might be a deeply tragic woman in there who starts living in your head forever
heartwarming: your favorite character was canonically molested
does anyone happen to have transfem buffy fic recs? i'm thinking about her today
so what i'm gathering is that i need to write about transfem buffy
*sees a post bullying angel* i'll reblog that *sees a post appreciating angel* i'll reblog that *sees a post calling angel a dramatic socially inept gay old man* i'll reblog that twice

i think i don't really vibe with most other fans of my favorite male characters is because they usually depict them too much of a man, and i am not interested in men, i am interested in The Character. and i am not saying that they should depict them as women, or nonbinary, or should depict them as feminine, no, not at all. but there's like, you know, you can depict a male character as The Character, and you can depict them as The Man. do you get me? like, i go to the fandom looking for art and fics, and it's just, regardless of his actual characterization, it's all just fantasizing about some kind of an abstract dominant patriarch, wearing my favorite character's face. it may be the most totally-wouldnt-have-normal-relationships (and sometimes even would-literally-abuse-you) kind of guy, and you join a dedicated space for his fans, and all they talk about is how they want to marry and start a tradcore 50s style nuclear family with him. it can be a guy who's arrogance and attempts of domination are explicitly shown to be a facade that hide the fact that he's actually kind of a massive pathetic wet loser, and you go to his fics, and they're all depicting him as a caricaturish daddy dom. at this point it's like, do you even like the character at all, or do you just like The Man, and project this man onto whatever character you find visually attractive? and these people kind of, really really poison actual discussion of the character, who is kind of a fucked up evil person (i only like *those* types, so im talking about them) because they see analysis of the actual character as an attack on their fantasized daddy dom husband, who is actually isn't The Character at all, and is simply a face of the day for The Man
Most fandoms recommending media: yeah you should check this out it’s pretty good
Buffy fans recommending Buffy: omg I love Buffy except for the racism, the misogyny, the occasional homophobia, the way sexual assault’s handled, a couple episodes I personally hate, David Boreanaz’s Irish accent and also the fact that Joss Whedon killed my entire family. You gotta watch Buffy though. You gotta.
I'm tired of pretending it's not literally fucking fine to read a character as transfem because they are feminine. why are transfem headcanons the only ones that require a burden of proof to you? don't worry, you don't have to tell me. I already know why.
can i come over and implant false memories of us being childhood friends?
Sure! You always did that when we were younger!
i enjoy the miserable girl character.
free my girl she did all that and that’s what makes her such a compellingly complex character. that’s her essence
would you ever do a 47 for jennyangel for the kiss meme..
you people love enabling me
47. out of spite
"You knew this was going to happen," says Jenny. She's smiling, sugar-sweet, leaning over Angel without a care in the world. It strikes him that he's never seen her half so unencumbered as she is in this moment. "You had to have known. You're such a fucking masochist, Angel, creating these situations for yourself even without a soul. What part of you would ever think that you'd be enough to rein me in?"
Saying that it had been Angelus's decision means very little in this moment, because Angel, soul and all, could never have predicted this. When he imagined Ms. Calendar as a vampire--and of course he always does, with every human he meets--he always imagined her as cold, calculating, carefully removed. This twist of vindictive passion is genuinely frightening to him.
He isn't an easily frightened guy. It's just that he doesn't know what she's going to do. He knows what her great-great grandmother would have done, but Jenny, Janna, woman of many faces, he's got no fucking clue what she wants. All he knows is that she's going to get it.
Jenny lets out a pleased sigh, almost a moan. Her hand rests with proprietary triumph on his shoulder.
"God," she says. "I fucking love my men afraid."
She leans down and kisses him, and there's nothing he can do to stop her.
