I dunno if I told you before, but I lost my 6 year old boy, Helix, to acute kidney failure last year.. It was the most devastating thing I've ever experienced in my life.. However, through my struggle with crippling depression and grief, that photo of Zed helped me process my sorrow just a little better. I really, really appreciated that.. Thank you.

I’ve been sending snail mail since I was a kid largely because the act of selecting an item to mail, applying the address, thinking about the person I’m mailing to the whole time and then putting the item in the mail knowing they’ll receive it makes me happy in a way that touches a core part of me.

That receiving stuff from me touches other people in meaningful ways always surprises me but it has come to mean just as much to me. I have spent a lot of my life feeling like I have no real impact on others or meaning to others (this is by and large due to how I have been treated by others) but the last few years people have been showing me that I do actually exist and have a real impact on them that doesn’t suck.

My health issues have made it very difficult for me to mail stuff because 1) I can’t afford it 2) it can be hard on me and expend energy to need to do other things but it’s something I miss doing so I’ve been really looking forward to the holiday season (the ONLY part of it I’m looking forward to) because I’ve been saving up stamps all year to mail cards.

I’ve been neglecting my tumblr spaces lately. I have begun scanning items I’ve received and will begin updating this blog in the next month or so. Promise!
