for anyone who cares: i left because it was bad for my mental health, though i didn't really care to admit that when it happened. my npd was undiagnosed at the time and i didn't know how to explain or cope with my symptoms, the moderation team was largely a bunch of extremely petty bigots who all thought they had a leg up on one another, and my interest in the game was seriously waning. i'm not calling them petty bigots because of the reason i left, by the way, i can admit that was entirely my fault; if you ask around enough it's really not that hard to dig up dirt on, like, everyone who's ever been a mod there. xP

having said that, though... on the more sympathetic hand: that's just kinda how the internet is, right? everyone has a history, and if you do something bad, it'll never be forgotten about... unless you nuke your presence and come back with a brand new identity, of course, and even then you run the risk of being found out and having everything crumble around you. i'm sure that plenty of the people involved were teenagers and young adults being stupid who now wish they could leave that phase of their life behind not least of all because if people know what they did they'll be labelled some kind of unforgivable monster. all i'm saying is that it's not all black and white.
