Do you know how much I love you and have longed to write you this letter? There are just a few things I want you to know.
I know you feel alone sometimes, I know you feel like you are not good enough or good looking enough, or talented enough or just enough. But. You. Are. Gosh I wish you could see the plans I have for you. That birth defect you have? It is not a life defect. I…
Matthew 15:34 The world waits for you. If you knew you were a life saver... Would you save a life? Of course you would. It's incredible to consider that Christians all over the world live with a ma...
I can’t handle this! There are very few things that make me angry. And. I. Mean. Angry.
Poverty. Pain. Hopelessness. Injustice. I’m over it.My heart is broken. I cannot try to put into words the pain I feel for those on death row in Indonesia. Andrew Chan, Myuran Sukumaran and now news of a 30-year-old Filipina mother of two, Mary Jane Veloso… and four others are set to have their…

It’s raining. It’s pouring. The old man is… whatever… my thoughts and prayers are with all those stranded, drenched, hurting and broken by the weather of the past days… Gail force winds, torrential rain, beaches torn up, houses carried away by flood water… the whole city feels like its in shut down. Heart breaking.
What?… A/S/L?… Pardon me? What is an “ASL”? Did you just call me an *******?… Age/Sex/Location?… Oh, so that’s all you’re interested in?!…
Please excuse me whilst I pick my jaw off up from the ground.
When I was younger, I had a tough time at school… I didn’t really fit in. I wasn’t smart, I wasn’t cool, I wasn’t Asian, I wasn’t European, I wasn’t rich, I wasn’tgreat at…
Get it off me!! It’s too tight… can you loosen it?
Walking through a shopping centre, there is chatter everywhere, people everywhere, the vibe is good, looking at shop windows when I turn to see this cute kid not far off with the biggest smile on his face. He’s walking along, with his parents behind him… as they get closer I notice this cute little kid with a backpack on his shoulders…
You go to an ATM, put your card in, enter your pin, want to withdraw $40…. Processing… Insufficient funds. Only $20 left… Dang! God, do you see this?! I have nothing left! This is my last $20!! I sense God in that moment saying “Really? You have nothing left?” … Awkward silence… I look my hand… ouch. $20. You are right God… thank you for the $20. You walk…

I mean, I am probably a lot like you, I have made some mistakes in the past that I regret. I’ve done some things that I am ashamed of… but that was so yesterday… or for some, that was so 10 years ago…. or for some, that is so right now.
I’ve heard it said that “you can hear the cries of a generation through the lyrics of the song writers”… it’s true. We do not need to go far to hear the heart cries of humanity. We are ALL searching for love and aching for hope. I’ve often wondered, what makes certain songs so successful? More often then not, it is because the listener connectsw…
I went to go and see my Physiotherapist a few weeks ago, took off my shirt (settle down)… went for a walk up and down the room as he analysed my condition. He sat me down and said “you’re compensating“… What?! “You’re compensating.” What does that even mean? “Your body is responding to your injury to make up for your weakness… You have a limp.” I almost bursted into tears… but…
Ahhhh chooooo! Bless you. Ahhhhhhh chooooo!! Bless you. Thank you. Any one else getting sick this time of year?
The weather is getting colder, the sneezes are getting louder, the advertising for tissues and cold and flu medication is increasing. There is sickness everywhere. You see people walking down the street waring face masks to try and keep the sickness to themselves… thanks… I…
One of my best friends and my God children left Sydney indefinitely last week to move to the UK and embark on their next season of life. I miss them already. They packed their entire life into suitcases (not their children), went to the check in counter, put their bags on the scales to find that they may be up for excess baggage charges. Ouch. Thank God, the airline…
After a big day, I came home yesterday to noticed my iPad was running low on battery. A 10% notification came up reminding me to plug it into the charger. So I did. I went about getting dinner ready and getting ready for bed for the next hour to return to my iPad to find I plugged it in, but I didn’t turn the power on. I was so frustrated. I had…
I love parties, one time I was at a party and it was pumping. The BBQ was fired up, the pool was fresh, the music was loud, the dancing was fun (especially mine)… There were people everywhere and it was super noisy, I could hardly even hear myself think. I was busy dancing the night away when all of a sudden I thought I heard someone call my name. “Leighton!” I asked the people…
One of the greatest challenges we face as Christians is the ability to enjoy life. It’s so sad… Jesus came to give us life, life to the FULL… Didn’t he?
Sometimes the inability to enjoy life and instead endure it comes from the inability to live and love today. The moment. Now. Today… Really is all we ever have. If I’m not careful, I can live…
So days like today can remind you of your singleness. If I get asked if I have a “valentine” one more time, I am pretty sure I am going to lose my mind-entine. I am all for loving people, celebrating relationships, and enjoying the company with our loved ones, but do we really need a special day to love our loved ones?
It breaks my heart to hear that depression, anxiety and even suicide is…
