whenever i imagine my dream home, the kitchen is so so important. hand-painted plates, gorgeous mugs and teapots, a ton of cookie cutters to choose from, niche kitchen supplies, anything to make it feel like mine...i want to wake up early in the morning and make breakfast for me and my lover, open windows letting in the sunlight, birds chirping outside. manifesting this now.

🖋 Inktober 2020 Prompt 2: Wisp

For this #throwbackthursday, it’s day 2 of last year’s inktober! I remember doing this one rather quickly, since I had a pretty clear picture in my head to begin with (though I started by drawing quite a few exploratory thumbnails anyway).

Since the prompt was “wisp”, the first thing that came to mind was “identity lost after death”; wisps to my knowledge are just floating balls of light. The thin, vertical hatching in the background is meant to convey the idea of elevation, a spirit rising, etc. Then I figured heavier, organic lines in the front would help indicate it being grounded to this world. Though simple, I think the contrast between these two elements is quite effective!

And obviously I gave myself a huge pat on the back because the eyes of the silhouette and the wisp line up bc they are the same hehehehe

That is LITERALLY the SINGLE BEST EXAMPLE of camoflauge working at max effect that I have EVER seen. I legitimately had to lean in and squint and follow it back from the bottle to figure out what was happening! XD
